Otis has stayed true to his calling and played beautifully, the best blues for many years, inspiring many thousands of guitarists along the way

Otis Rush is just one of many UNDER-RATED Kings of the Blues! There were a good many great Blues players that learned much from his style of playing the Blues. And Oh Yes! What a voice that man had and his guitar playing is some of the cleanest playing you will ever hear. Notice how you rarely ever hear him make the strings squeak when he plays? What a great Blues Man he is!

This is my favorite Otis Rush album. The sound of the guitar and band just cant get better and Otis plays explicit long and beautiful blues lines. What a pleasure!

BB King did a beautifull cover of this with brass in the instrumental, it doesn't seem to be on youtube though. Otis Rush still makes it sound completely his own, Utterly timeless track.

Deandre White Only MOST of the young people in this day and age don't know about this music. I'm one of the lucky ones that is absolutely '100% proud to say that blues is my favorite genre of music on earth. I'd much rather listen to some BB King or Robert Johnson over these new artists any day. (I was born in 1997.)

funny you sent this...i was saying in conversation yesterday that otis rush, albert king, elizabeth cotton, and bobby womack were probably the most well know guitarists that literally played upside down.
@standingbeark9 жыл бұрын
good deal...i'm actually sitting here playing as i watch the football game, lol. jimi was giftd at being able to do that, as i'm sure you know, on a right handed axe. i've done it some, but never devoted much time to the task. might not be a bad exercise.

This track got played alot on London's ''jazzf.m"' station when this was re- released onto CD in the early 1990s. What astounded me was his tortured voice, the tone of his guitar, the feel and that stinging finger vibrato. I went out immediately and got TWO copies of the CD. The whole CD is beyond words.(inspite of the overdubs by Lucky Peterson which got it some bad reviews)
