Another one of my childhood malls since I used to live in Niles. It’s sad to see how it looks now.

These are quite unique... they're the only duplex setup I've ever seen with touch fixtures. (I've seen many with bakelite.). Up hall calls will always send the left car and down hall calls will always send the right car. They'll eventually call the other car via a crossover dispatch if they get busy or a car goes out of service.

Nice lift and running well, don't see them in such good order with the original buttons. Thanks for the tour .

This could be one of the oldest mall elevators

I remember visiting a doctor's office that was in this building when I was 7. I decided to visit the mall recently. I'm quite surprised it's still open as it's now pretty much dead aside from the anchor tenants. There is a plan to demolish and redevelop the space including the tower (sadly), although a redevelopment to better utilize the space would be nice for the city.

Lots to love here, those are my favorite elevator buttons, the circline fluorescent fixture in the stairwell and even the lever set on the stairwell door. I'm guessing that is a retrofit to lever to meet code. I did tenant improvement construction for 40 years, but sadly I had little contact with elevators as I did mostly industrial and R&D type spaces.

Nice vintage elevators I should visit them before the mall gets closed I heard some time ago they are going to rebuild it for residential construction but that remains to be seen
