Otis Traction Modded Elevators at Disney's BoardWalk Inn, Kissimmee, FL

These are the elevators on the main (non-villa) side of the hotel. These were Montgomery with Innovation fixtures, but were modded in 2015 and 2016 by Otis. The fixtures, door operators, and (I think) controllers were replaced while the doors, cabs, ropes, and (I think) motors remain original. It's a nice mod, and probably slightly more tasteful than the original elevators. This bank was the only one modded. The shuttle car and the bank in the villas side of the resort remain fully original.

These are definitely on new controllers, even if it sounded like relays were being used. If these were on the original controller, these would act a lot different (more like Monties), & the buttons would click more & light-up amber.

That’s what I thought. I think they use the same controller as the ones in the Beach Club Villas, the ones that make a loud clicking sound as the door is closing. I think both use the same motor/sheave because they both accelerate the same way as they used to.

Maybe. And for example, The Seas elevator's newest mod. was just a slap-on. You can clearly tell because it acts the way it did when it was a General, & it has amber button-lights & they click more.

No, I think their too new. And as far I know, they use the same motor. They’re on some newer controller that kind of sounds like relays when it’s starting up.

Yes, that’s the way most Disney hotel elevators are, 350 FPM. It makes newer MRL elevators in hotels we see coming up seem slow.

AdazElevatorz u know what will be really funny? If they put a 25 story tower with a FULL traction elevator going 100fpm and a very slow leveling

Yea, Disney would never do that, nor probably would an elevator company. Very creative thinking though.
