I answer a few questions and wax poetic about The Hag, Drive By Truckers, Chris Stapleton, guitars and stage fright. This is an experiment. If you dig this, I might do this again. Maybe even regularly. I may decide I never want to do this ever again. The possibilities are endless.

If you enjoyed this and would like for me to do it again sometime, feel free to leave a question down below. If I feel like I might have something interesting/entertaining to say about it, I might give it a shot. I also reserve the right to never ever do this again. I can't believe I talked for 45 minutes straight. ; )

Thanks for the stories Otis. You're such a beautiful big hearted man. Love ya man. Thanks for telling people how hard the music business and much crap you have to go through. I'm not a great writer. I'm trying to work harder at it. I can do g pretty good still. I'm smoked so many cigarettes, especially Newports. I'm a pretty good guitar player and I'm trying to get better and better. I couldn't stand the Nashville scene for so long now. I feel we need to get back to basics like Chris Stapleton has. Do it independently like Tom MacDonald is doing and Struggle Jennings have been doing it. These music industry are so filled with evil that hopefully a revision has started again. Thanks Otis for everything again.. A true treasure.

Been binging on your videos. Great job Otis. When my grandmother passed away in 2015 at 103, I thought how Merle was doing at the time. That's how I coped. He lived about a year later. I always go to Merle in tough times. He was so amazing.

Otis, on behalf of my husband and I, I would like to say that we have thoroughly enjoyed all of your videos which we have watched during this year of isolation. We are older (75 and 84) and you have expanded our appreciation for artists we had never enjoyed before. We always look for other KZbin videos of the artists you talk about. And we have enjoyed getting to know you through your videos. What a kind warm personality you have after all your life experiences. We hope you continue with your words of wisdom.

I really enjoyed the video on Merle Haggard, honestly though I haven’t see a video of yours I don’t like. This is just coming from one working musician to another, but what attracts me to you channel Otis is that is just genuine, honest, and of course super friendly. Also your outstanding positive attitude is also a big factor for me. That’s just me. Anyway I’ll always be a faithful follower of your channel and I learn something new on here which also what I enjoy. Keep up the great work and superb top shelf content. Andrew

Totally enjoyed every one of those 45 minutes. My first episode was Justin Townes Earl. Your humble nature was so respectful it was the voice I needed to hear at such a terrible time. Yours was a personal loss, a friend was taken far too early and you gave him a heartfelt memorial with a positive spin. Yours is a journey of many adventures. From Todd Snyder on Mushrooms to rocking with Ian Hunter, you are the backstage pass. Thank you for what you've read, what you've heard and what you've lived first hand. Enjoy your peaches, I'm going to join you with a can myself. Looking forward to your next installment...

Hey Otis, love the James Blears story. I had no idea about his military service, only his 'rasslin' career. And as a fellow guitar geek its incredible we can hear former guest David Grier playing bluegrass on gorgeous vintage Martin's or ZZ Top played on a Texas Playboys Telecaster or learn how to play 9 Pound Hammer from Merle Travis's son on Merle Travis's guitar that still has cigarette ashes in it of Travis's. It's a wild time to be alive. Thanks for the good work and thanks for sitting with me this morning while we were both drinking coffee and telling stories...

You are right, Otis. Glad you are talking about creativity . It's great for people to know that if they want to write songs, or paint paintings, or build collages, or build a cottage shed, stuff they want to create , they should just check it out and do it. Give yourself permission to be an absolute beginner. Be true to your own creative vibrations and people will feel it. I often remember Howard Finster for painting inspiration.

I'm only as far as chumbawamba but I cannot believe you're talking about the song. It is following me every where I go. Yesterday, close to our turn off, stuck in Semana Santa traffic on the Pan-American Highway in Costa Rica, we heard and started loudly singing, "If I get knocked down I get up again...". You could tell other people around us were listening too. And last night it was playing during the closing credits of a movie. Great song. Now I'm going to listen to the rest.

I really got comfortable being in front of people after I retired and would do open mikes in the southwest for retirees. Now I do open mikes or party's any chance I get. Also when stopped at any given place with our fifth wheel the guitar comes out and if lucky someone comes by and listens or even joins in. Keep up the good work. I also like your songs. I can relate to your stories 100 per cent and have had some of the most enjoyable experiences of my life touring and meeting new people and seeing their lives/cultures-from Europe through to Greece to Israel. We are so lucky to have Music in our lives- i truly feel blessed and can see you do too....i was brought to you when you demo'd your Les Paul as i had just bought a 69 Deluxe Gold Top- its such a killer guitar! I had a similar experience to your Romanian one in Tennessee near Dale Hollow Dam in Tennessee. A Good Samaritan was driving me to a cabin he said I could rent that night (out of gas and the only station wouldnt open til morning) and I realized “No one knows I am here, theres no cell signal, and I am in a pickup with a guy 6’8” tall driving deeper and deeper into the woods…” it was the same thought process Otis & Todd had on the train! I was solo and when we got to the cabin my heart was racing! But it was a lovely cabin and they arranged to go hirseback riding with a neighbor who had horses the next morning! Cabin was so homey, it was awesome!

If only KZbin had a love button, instead of the like one. I absolutely love this video, man. I love your channel, & genuinely feel you on so many levels. I can honestly say that as bad a year 2020 turned out. This channel was a bright spot for me. It's grown now to become today my sincere favorite KZbin channel! I look forward to your uploads. Thanks again, Otis! 🖤

I plant trees from time to time to for wetland restoration jobs! If we had all FEMA flood zones in trees it would save lives and help the environment. I knew I liked you for some reason Otis. Great to remember fallen friends too!

Your stories are too riveting. I can't get enough. I only wish I had the money now to but guitars and amps in the 70s and 80s. Also even though I can't always watch your vids right away, I'll always watch them. Keep on keepin on buddy!!

I also have a question about your merch and I figure this is the best way to ask. Can I get the measurements on the inside of the hat on 2 snaps. I have dreads(so big head) but I love hats. I'll buy merch regardless but I want a hat. Much love buddy.
