Otis, the content on the recent videos about Townes has been over the top. Thank you for sharing these with us. I loved the very last statement about Blaze Foley being a bad influence, and how everyone had it backwards, that Blaze didn't start drinking whisky until he met Townes. Great info!

Blaze Drank just not hard or very much until he met Townes, at least this is how the story sounded to me.

I love Townes music. I have always been saddened by how he lived his life for his art. I’m pretty sure I could never live my life like a wreck on the highway for all to witness. He lived what I call a very dark bohemian lifestyle. Beautiful music was created at a very high personal cost. Same goes for Blaze Foley. The muse these two men utilized for the sake of creating songs is just sad, scary and hard to watch at times. Thanks Otis another great segment.

Thank you both. That was some great background, and a nice peek into Townes and Uncle Seymour, and the history of the area.

Big thanks Otis fore posting all these masterpiece videos with interviews on Townes Van Zandt. You are sheding light on one of the all times greatest singer-songwriters, The Great Townes Van Zandt, in a very, very brilliant way. So once again, many many thanks.

I love how everyone here seems to realize, as I do, that these interviews give a new insight(s) into how the greatest songwriter ever (IMHO) got those songs written.

Really loving all these new videos, Otis! I wasn't aware that Guy didn't like Blaze and that's the kinda stuff I love learning about these guys. I can understand it from Guy's point of view though because he only wanted the best for Townes and Blaze probably wasn't the best even though they were both great. These videos are making my day, thank you again Otis. Much love brother.

As ever, a great video Otis. I didn’t know Townes was a bad influence on Blaze… I did know Guy Clark didn’t like him, but If I Could Only Fly is one of my all time favourite songs. And if John Prine plays one of your songs, as he did when he played Clay Pigeons, well that’s like being knighted. Much love to ya ❤️

I've heard/read that Townes lived with Roky Erickson for a time in Austin, and tried to talk Townes into playing bass for the 13th Floor Elevators. I would like to hear someone tell more details of that story

Thanks Michael and Otis for sharing this. We have a local singer-songwriter acoustic guitarist named Chris Corcoran. I'm wondering if that's the son that Michael mentions who's a Townes/Blaze fan. I first saw Chris Corcoran when he opened for Paul Thorn. A few weeks later we went to see Chris play at a local bowling alley. Cool guy. Any relation? I agree with posters below. Thanks for the Townes content. I'm on a huge Townes kick right now and have been flying the friendly skies streaming Townes on layovers and such.

I never knew Guy didn’t like Blaze. Guy would be a bad guy to have not like you.
