Love your approach to these videos. I have a number of pedals, initially for guitar, but I’ve started sending daw stuff through them to get out of the box. Reverb is the one effect I’m not sure if it’s worth getting hardware. This is making me think maybe the value in hardware reverb is putting it before other subtle or unsubtle pedals to get more character. Otherwise, i wonder why not just use a vst? I always WANT hardware but reverb is where I’m trying to justify it..

Thanks for the kind words! I hear you, I just prefer the physicality of HW personally. Most reverbs are digital (minus real spring reverb, water tanks, or ancient plate reverb) and many synths are digital too, so theoretically they're all software anyway. The only thing you're missing out on is the D/A and A/D converters doing their thing, not to say it's a game changing piece of the puzzle, but something you're not getting with in-the-box VST based effects. As you mention, swapping around effect order is fun too, and you can definitely get some cool and unexpected results doing that. I stick to pedals more for the love of knobs and having a physical signal chain. I work on a computer all day long, every day, and so I keep from touching a (real) computer for music, but there's no shame in keeping it in the box. Lots of benefits to that way of working too!
