This is a tutorial on how to use the OTO Machines BAM. I go over each part of the interface and explain all the different options and settings. I'm using a Korg Volca Bass as a sound source (off screen). The BAM is a very simple unit to operate and you can access 90% of the functionality directly on the front panel. There are some hidden settings available but these aren't critical to every day use. In my opinion the interface is really well designed.

Always out of stock but always available to order - 2 months waiting for these great french guys to build it - well worth it. I have Boum and Bam with Bim coming in a few weeks. Electronic music is all about having "your" sound.

I have had this thing for a couple of years now and it has grown to be one of my favourite pieces of gear. There is a small learning curve but after a short time I found the UI to be clear and concise, it is a work of genius. Importantly, the lack of alphanumeric information forces you to listen critically and make decisions with your ears, it's purely about the sound. I learned a lot about reverb using BAM that I hadn't previously in decades of owning other reverb devices. Built like a tank and stands up to being played like an instrument during live performances, in fact it demands it! I love mine and will never part with it. Now beginning to explore the midi features and a whole new world has just opened up, it is like a second honeymoon. Seriously tempted to get a BIM or Boum now.

Great video, thanks. If you come up with a setting and turn the Bam off, does it keep it there or reset every time?

Great demo! But why didn't you pluged it in stereo?
@chussein7
@chussein7 5 жыл бұрын
the volca output is mono
@beaudetmat
@beaudetmat 5 жыл бұрын
@@chussein7 Yes but the reverb output is stereo, so when you plug a mono source in L(mono), you should have a stereo reverb processing, or should you? I never tried the OTO BAM specifically but I'm pretty sure that's the purpose of L(mono) input, to feed the 2 channels of the stereo processing, as in a mixing console, when you plug a guitar in the L(mono) of a stereo channel, you hear the guitar in both speakers...it would be a bit disapointing if it doesn't work like that with the BAM

Few days later. I’m all about it. The delay is headed tome now and reverb is coming next week. The dist is the only one I’m more sketch on. As I have the Heat II. Tho can’t split em up so that will be last.

I don't even think this thing is especially awesome in how it sounds or it's features. I can get pretty far with an ugly zoomCDR70. I just love when a company knocks it out of the park with controls and user interface. I really appreciate the minimalism and how all the feedback is easy on the eyes, without having to tell me alphanumerically.
