Very heartening that A. Gallo is paying attention to your review, noticed the problem and sent you new paint! These are beautiful paints! Thank you for all your hard work Oto!

I bought the signature set because I loved it in your first video. Then I received it, and it was SO MUCH BETTER. SO I ordered the naturals set. And I loved THAT so much that I ordered the 48 set. I am now worse than broke. BUT WORTH IT. 😂😂😂
@lucyfielle2 жыл бұрын
I also began stalking their site after the first video. Also because they had the YinMn blue in their round-up. Got the 48 set and a swatch card the first time around and then the blue set (because of one colour XD), a travel brush set with mop brushes and the giant travel mop brush... ... ... Now thinking of getting individual ones to make a smaller travel watercolour set as well since their most interesting ones lack a grey.

So excited, I won at the fair so I am using my fair winnings to buy the 24 Signature can't wait til it is here. It would be fast I am sure if I were in the UK, but I live in the beautiful State of Montana, USA, if you ever get a chance to come to America please come to Montana and you and your husband can stay at our house if you would like (we are under a 150 miles to Yellowstone Park). It's an 1936 era Victoria house, we live in the country just have cows and horses surrounding us and the wonderful tranquil sounds of quiet, unless the Peanut Butter Truck (UPS) goes my and our faithful dog, Isaac, let's us know it is here. Have a blessed day dear one. Love yor afghans, just found the most beautiful yarn hand dyed and made in Turkey planning to make a sweater shirt with 2 large granny squares wish me luck and that my wrists will hold out.

As a yarn/fiber dyer, I get so much benefit from these color mixing/swatching videos! I’ve learned so much color theory from you, and I love how these watercolor videos teach me what to anticipate when I use similar acid dyes on wool or silk.

I really like the 'notturno' shade the most!!! Glad you were able to reswatch it for us to see. As a granulating watercolour fan, this brand was impressive. I only hope that the 'quality issue' with the first swatch isn't something that is a regular occurrence as I'd hate to invest money on these paints and have the same problems.

I really don’t need more paints but they have been on my ‘I want list’ for some time. as soon as I have some money not destined for important things I am going to order these.

I’m so glad to see this video - I have several of the A. Gallo palettes and I love them, so I was a bit sad when your previous video wasn’t a deep dive. I’m happy you took the opportunity to try them again and found them as lovely as so many of us do! Thanks!

A. Gallo paints are truly lovely! Personally I think that the only way to know how watercolours behave, is to paint with them. I always take reviews based on mere swatches with a grain of salt..

I've seen those interesting textures in other handmade watercolors, so it must have to do with the pigment size since they can't grind as finely. I've only bought a couple of these paints to try some single pigments, and they were fine. All the multi-pigments always threw me off, but I see a couple here that I might have to try or play with mixing myself. Thank you for all your hard work!

I call that "veining feathery," effect a rivuleting because it looks like a map of rivers with small, radiating rivulets. I use this effect for making waves with white gouache in my watercolour paintings. I love your swatch cards, I might try your layouts in the future. I'll need to find a supplier of these paints in Australia, as a few of them were very eye-catching! Thank you for this extra review :) subscribed!

These paints are so beautiful. I ordered some and they're just lovely to work with. I'm a beginner with drawing and there for painting ( like terrible) lol. But I love the way watercolor move and flow so I always try to play. These are just beautiful. I had a problem with check out o. The day of release in July the site had messed my order up and I emailed them immediately letting them know and they were super nice and helpful and had fantastic customer service. It honestly was probably the best customer service that I have had in many years. Thanks for this video. Have a great day

Interesting. Many reviewers are quite negative about palettes that are not mainly single pigment based. This palette has a lot of mixes, and seems to be more focused on beautiful aesthetic colours and characterful handling. Personally I am not too worried about single pigments. The selection of colours in this set are gorgeous , it is way out of my reach, but who knows, maybe a few single half pans on my wish list, if not some mixing inspiration. Nice review as always.
@s.maskell71342 жыл бұрын
I recently saw a video with John Cogley on the Daniel Smith channel and he explained that with most color 'mixes' the colors actually chemically bond, they will not separate when used, and so should be considered single pigments rather than mixes (even though they still state which colors were used).

It looks as though the Quinacridone Gold no longer uses PY150 and PO48. On the A. Gallo site, it shows a 3 pigment blend of PY150, PR101, and PV19. The Jackson's site lists the Quin. Gold as a 2 pigment blend, PR101 and PY150. In any case, this looks like an amazing set, thank you for such a wonderful overview of this amazing palette!

They're incredible aren't they! I managed to get the Mixing set in the last restock and then I've bought some individual pans from Jacksons and then after that, I had to buy more because I've never used a set of paints that are so rich, so easy to re-wet, so pigmented and vibrant, I've now just bought the other 12 signature set and I'm saving up for the rest. Honestly, this lot have now overtaken Schmincke as my absolute favourite.

Hi!! I finally found the time to watch some videos and had to start with yours. This palette looks amazing, great job on the swatches. The Fig Green is so lovely indeed! The mixes are so soft. I was wondering if you painted with them already? I oftentimes find that I truly get to know the paints and their potential during paintings. Also this veiny texture, a few of the granulating colors I swatched did that too. It's the "cauliflower " of the granulating paints and it's quiet beautiful. :)

Love a huge majority of these colors from A. Gallo. Unfortunately, looking at their website and Jackson's today, it appears that most of the colors are on back order. The A. Gallo site said they would be back in September; however, it is September and they are still on back order. Will have to look again sometime to see if they are back in stock anywhere. Thank you for the review!
@Mirrigold2 жыл бұрын
They re-stock once a month, it usually says what date on the website, September it was last Sunday, the 25th. The next re-stock on A.Gallo's website is October 30th and Jackson's Art has most of them back in stock now with some due any day. Because they hand make them in limited amounts, they sell out really quickly. You can set email notifications on the A. Gallo website to let you know when they're back.

That ruby!! Now I really want notturno. I’m very curious about the interaction of he rosemary oil they use and the pigments-if it somehow increases granulation. If I was a scientist I’d be doing a deep dive into molecular chemistry, but I barely survived chemistry in high school. 😂

What makes these better than any other professional paint? They have the same binders, the same pigments in the same amounts. So why should anyone spend so much more for paints you yourself wouldn't even pay for? You didn't buy them so why should anyone else? Also you are paid for your reviews. You are paid by adsense and free product. Stop saying you aren't paid. You are. Otherwise you wouldn't be on KZbin bedstead them you'd have to buy your own paints. Stop lying to people.
