Not quite so punny but simply put most mustelids have a odor about them that they kind of leave around as a marker of their territory ferrets can dribble for my scent gland as a deterrent similar to skunks spray, if you're buying a mustelid sold in a pet store chances are it's been de-scented if you buy a skunk from a private breeder for the purpose of a pet unless you ask otherwise it'll probably be de-scented.
