That baby girl was very patient with the otter family -- she flinched when their whiskers tickled her face but did not cry. I think the otters were more curious about her than she was about them… or maybe her little mind was too confused to know what to think about these friendly furry chirping water-sausages 😅 Such a nice interaction!

I believe that the otters see her ( not just for her smell as a young human but) also a similar creature that crawls on all fours, roughly the same size, and even easily curious like each other. I’m not a zoologist, nor a psychiatrist, but two different species can see each other have a lot in common. In behavior, and in features. Plus in size

Naturally. Children who grew up with animals are happy, and they learn more before they go to school. I call that a great thing for the baby and the animal. Especially the exotic kinds. Teaching each other on how to socialize and be gentle with each other.

Congratulations Mom Loutre for bringing us a super wonderful video where the child's interaction with the otters is something out of the ordinary and that deeply touched my heart. I have always found this family to be very cordial and affectionate towards everyone, especially Aunt Odashi, who never tires of hugging her sister Otsuyo, who has blessed us with beautiful and affectionate children, especially Tororo, who has taken on the role of protective brother for the entire family. I loved seeing the goosebumps that the human child sometimes expressed when touched by the children who ran around him full of joy and frenzy. so cute, and also amazing, normally you would expect an exploratory nip to see what that new "thing" is (the baby) but nothing like that, it amazes me , even my own 4 year old rats do the nibble to see what i am. the baby not being afraid or panicking has a lot to do with how animals will react to her, i hope they will allow her to come more often as that will only enhance the bond between humans and otters. i also noticed the otters backing off a bit when the baby was put on her feet, like they knew that humans are much bigger then they are and also much more of a klutz.
