I was very surprised to see the producer being so busy taking credit for EVERYTHING. And even telling the band members that they are nothing without him. That leaves me a bit cold... A lot of Russian/Ukrainian musical acts are set up like the boy and girl bands of the 1990's, here in the USA and UK. The producers form, manage and control all of the band's doings. So, they truly do create these bands and of course should have the control as the performers are employees and are free to leave, if they don't like the situation.

Русский собрал и организовал эту группу, он и поддерживает порядок в женском коллективе, что совсем не просто. Никто не мешает девочкам организоваться отдельно, если кому не нравится.Но по другому нельзя, не получилось бы ничего без строгой дисциплины. Это группа не будет существовать без своего продюсера. Am I the only person who finds Andrei repulsive and creepy? He tried so hard to make sure we are left with no doubt that it is all about and by HIM, and that the young women are completely replaceable, like parts of a machine, a machine that is totally under his control. That’s why he humiliated that one young woman in front of the camera. He was establishing his dominance to the world. There is so much more I could say and many questions I could ask. I know his kind and I don’t like what I see. I just hope there is someone keeping an eye on him and on the girls to make sure they are SAFE. One thing he does NOT have: he doesn’t have the voices and the spirit that OTYKEN have. He can design sets, write the music, select clothes to his hearts content, but without the musicians none of it comes alive. He didn’t even give them credit for that.

I can't believe this video was released... it makes the producer look awful and ruins the magic of the band. The thumbnail is showing him verbally abusing the singer... And as far as I'm understanding, he's not an indigenous man but casts indigenous performers and presents the band as such. I remember seeing questions of validity a few years ago, and debates on why Otyken doesn't provide clear lyrics and translations. Whether they were a fake indigenous band. I was always on the fence but wary. Loved the music but didn't know enough about the culture to be sure. This video has just validated those concerns. And it's from the horses mouth. I'm... honestly baffled why the producer thought this was a good idea.

I agree with you. Right now I feel disppointed. I thought this band was created organically, with people that decided to create music together. This feels artificial. I get the business part and well, he has taken some decisions that have helped them somehow...? because they have achieved a huge success worldwide. I can't talk about how he deals with the members because I'm not sure if this is a cultural thing, I'm ignorant in that aspect. But after watching this video, I ended up feeling like I've been supporting something although beautiful, it's not that deep nor real? I still think they're amazing and they do an excellent work, they have a lot of talent and somehow are helping to promote their culture (even though there must be more groups and individuals who do the same and they're not that popular), but I wonder if the members are really okay and if the producer is taking it too far, just like US music industry - because he seems to share the same vision as American producers...

I understand that Andrey is supposed to be the brain behind this whole thing, i also understand that the band wouldnt be a thing without him as he not so subtly conveys this to us in the video.. But when you are making a behind the scenes short, maybe.. just maybe.. Do not display your performers as replaceable dolls and especially do not humiliate them in front of a camera and before the fans in such a patronizing way. (Keep in mind, if that’s what he’s willing to show on camera, imagine what he’s like off camera) It explains a lot about why so many members have been leaving the group. Well, i really liked the music of Otyken but i always found there was something fishy about its authenticity when some of the female performers seemed more recruited because of their good looks rather than their musical talent. Now, i discover that an ethnic russian is producing all the music. This would be ok if he was not treating his 'employees' like shit. The fact that this behind the scene documentary hides nothing tells a lot about the colonialist attitude of ethnic russians towards the indigenous people of Siberia.

Mix mongol throat singing with metal, siberian with electro or rap, turkish and arabic with hip hop, classical guitar with metal, hip hop with rap, japanese shamisen to metal or rock, chinese and tradtional russian to rap, gypsy to russian polka, flamenco into a 1000 styles of latin music, african beats to latin music, and the list never ends, they've been doing this for hundreds of years.

То что прилюдно начал на камеру отчитывать девчонку, показывает его гниль. Бесспорно его заслуга неоценима в нахождении образа и подбора стиля, но видно зазвездился Девчонки, у вас есть имя, вы можете в любой точке мира снова собрать группу и сделать её по своему усмотрению, многие известные продюсеры встанут в очередь! Снимите корону с головы продюсера, приземлите его!

These girls should change to a Western management and producer. So they are not affected by Russian sanctions and can actually tour the world and start earning money. Do you want to bet that the "producer" is also hogging 90% of the income? Someone like him, treating his artists like peasants, would do that. That's basically stealing, who's the real artist here?? This "producer" isn't special, his lyrics aren't sophisticated and it's not hard to design indigenous clothing. This group has fans because of the performers, not because of that narcissistic Russian man.

Hi from Costa Rica, I was aware this band was not created by their member themselves. they might not be indigenous, I was aware they are at least siberians and it is traditions and electronic music merged, but even so, I am surprised how the producer is proud of getting Azian crying on the floor while trying to sing as he told. Azian you are great and I support you, you should be the leader and the producer. I wonder if Maya is no longer with them because of the fact that she does not look like the other girls in the band 🤔

I'm so sorry to say this, but c'mon! Otyken represents Siberia indeed but this producer does not! Even if he says in this short documentarty, he is the one who does "everything" behind the scenes. I love these girls, I really love their work, their art and their culture, but this "poducer" guy just made me feel sad for these girls. So sad! Мне очень жаль это говорить, но, черт возьми! Отыкен действительно представляет Сибирь, но этот продюсер - нет! Даже если он говорит в этом короткометражном документальном фильме, он тот, кто делает «все» за кулисами.
