Thank you for reaction. 👍 Otyken [O-tu-k`en] is definitely one of the best Russian "modern folk" bands. Their texts are in Khakass, Chulym, Dolgan and Russian languages. Word "Otyken" in Chulym and other Turkic languages means - "a sacred land where warriors would lay down their arms and talk". Altay (region in south Siberia) is the hypotethical ancestral home of all Turkic languages tribes (peoples). Ummet Ozcan is a Dutch DJ and record producer of Turkish origin. Some of the earlier tunes from 2 years ago like "Genesis", "Legend" and "Storm" are just bonkers fun because they are so natural, and you can tell they are having a blast, there are no video retakes, if someone falls on their butt during the video shoot, it stays in the video. The girls' throat singing/screams are just amazing to Western ears.

Otyken is a Russian Siberian indigenous music group ... The Altai proper lie in the Altay republic of Asian Russia, in extreme eastern Kazakhstan.. I don't have to do my research I lived there
