Greetings from Scotland! This song/video makes my spine run cold! Not sure where this was shot, but it looks very like Lake Baikal? A huge expanse of frozen (in winter) fresh water. Absolutely love their ethnic music! Impossible to stay still listening to this! The group OTYKEN come from the Krasnoyarsk Krai area in east-central Russia. Part of an area of Central Siberia which extends from Severnaya Zemlya archipelago in the Arctic Ocean to the Sayan Mountains in the south. It is VAST, covering over 5 million square miles! In comparison, the whole of the USA covers just over 3.7 Million square miles. Russia (in total) currently covers over 6.6 million square miles!

They just uploaded a full concert that was in Moscow in 2023, spectacular, I would love to see them live. BTW, the correct pronunciation is Oh-too-ken. They are members of the Chulyms and Khakass (I think I have written them correctly) tribes of which there are apparently only 200 or so speakers of the language left. The 'don't go east' refers to going east which takes you to the coldest and deadliest part of Siberia. They are very strong on nature and I love it.
