I got one as a gift from my woman after I told her about this story I had read about and then watched a documentary on it it very lite weight and actually is practical for a neck knife it's great for small tasks and fun to carve with I love it and the story behind otzi is mysterious and miraculous.

Hi Bjørn, have you seen Will Lord at all? He's a flint knapper who makes flint knives with nettle cordage, very similar to the original flint version.

Maybe primitive for them is when you actually have to do something else than hold the phone :D Love these nature walk videos, autumn growings are quite early this year at least here in Finland. That small blade is actually very useful, I have same type of knife also but didn't come up with the idea of having it as a "necklace". And I kinda feel the same about long hikes since I've been around local nature a lot, maybe on a totally different climate there would be so much to see that it would be interesting.

I share the same sentiment about China. Not about Chinese people but about the policy and the quality of the products they produce for us the Western Europe. In the past China used to produce ones of the best quality products in the world. Sadly they become with the time the worst quality producers in the world b. Sad but true…😊

Here in the US we would call those crabapples. Because when you bite into them they're so sour it makes you crabby. I'm glad that you are moving away from the political type videos into the more woodsy Bushcraft theme. I am also gravitating towards the old ways. Putting away my Ferro rod and knocking the rust off my flint and steel to do more primitive style camping. Also bought my first condor the small primitive Mountain Knife for carving tasks.

I had a nice arrowhead and made a nice straight shaft a d lashed the head in notch and used a fine cord and pitch to seal it, and I had a captive audience of 10 year old boys, and an instructor said they had an opening for primitive tool making, I said it's not primitive! It's skill, you graduate students should know this, what I made here is viable for survival and survival is not up for debate, thanks for bringing up the subject

"Primative"... so True. I watched Apocalypto with my wife and I commented that the hunters in opening were NOT primative because everything they did, everything they wore was totally integrated to their life, community, spirituality.... She answered... you mean "they were MORE primative"... and I insisted, not at all. We are primative in that our lives are dysfunctional and malaptive and we have to make up for that dysfunction with things, drugs, booze, glitter, distraction... Maybe I'll check out a course... Will I pass the test??? :)

I have to admit, I’m a little bit hesitant to purchase a knife you recommend again Björn. Last time I bought a knife from Virtues knives, he took my money and after that he said he had to take a break. Now we are more than a year later and he doesn’t reply to my emails and doesn’t refund the money. And as you probably know, it’s quite a bit of money. That’s not your fault of course, but that is a riks, when you promote a company.
@BjornOutdoors
@BjornOutdoors Жыл бұрын
That is horrible. I have tried to get hold of min as well. However, that should not affect your trust in my knife recommendation. I know knives, but I am sure you understand I can not know every single knife company out there. However, Condor is a big company and you can trust them.

I'm watching the whole vid. Love the Otzi knife most, probably because I'm a woman and there's a centuries long tradition of women wearing neck and cleavage knives. We're in Sweden, in the north. I'm 62 this year, an old woman, and going blind, but it's my intention to maintain what fitness level I can. So with my Border Collie and my bugout rucksack, I'm taking more hikes before winter hits. Realised recently I had this bugout bag ready and waiting but hadn't ever walked any length with it, which is stupid. So time to get used to the weight of it. Anyone else noticing Autumn is coming earlier this year? My Rowan trees are so heavy with berries I feel winter will be early and harsh too. I hope you make some winter bushcraft videos. Thanks for all the ones you do make already.
@f.goossens8118

PS, yes, crab apples. (I'm Scots). But eating them raw will generally give you bellyache. Cook them up, mix them with other fruits or make jam or jelly and they are fine. Same with Rowan berries (mountain ash). Eating them raw will give you gut trouble, but in Scotland they make Rowan Jelly with them and it's usually eaten with venison. Here in Sweden I haven't seen any Rowan Jelly for sale, so being lucky enough to have a few trees on my property, I'll make my own.

Dear Björn -- thanks for so many great videos which you are bringing up to share your recognition and understanding of the many challenges we are facing today ! Very important work and we are all very grateful for this ! I am also observing the sky - quite my whole life and I can only say that what we have nowadays is the most manipulated and misused sky that humanity ever had to encounter ! I took quite a number of photos of cloud formations which did not even exist 20 or 25 years ago at all. The way the skies are being milked by trails for days is in a shocking way unbelievable actually ! The technique of trails and Harp does now for many many years more and more unabashed form and produce the weather we have - it is not only a mere influence anymore ! OF course it is not easy to prove my words but the evidence is not to be overlooked anymore and the witnesses ( also from pilots ) for this development as well as the data which can be found and seen ( satellite-photos of the clouds and the way the form up and develop ) stand for what can not be denied anymore ! OF course this all comes with disasters like floods and droughts and it is often the result of a program that i would call as satanic as it get`s. They want exactly these results to support their climate change narrative ( climate is and was constantly changing throughout the history !! ) and it belongs to the agenda as well as it is being used to weaken the competitive countries and their economies ! ( the consequences for the inhabitants health-wise is not only taken into account but is another goal ! the limits of heavy metal values in rain water are often 50 or 100 or even more times higher than what would be allowed ! very often tested and shown on different channels - coming from scientists and people who let these data be analyzed in lavatories ! The results are very often shocking ! )
