My best tip to hold the tics away is coconut oil. I take a bath w some coconut oil in the morning and no tics want to greet me ever 😊

I use a strong homemade rosemary tincture and spray it all over my dog and myself before we go out walking, keeps the fleas at bay too. Bring to boil and simmer a large handfull of fresh rosemary for 30 mins in 1.5 ltrs water, filter and decant into a spray bottle and store the rest in the fridge. Spray your body, clothes and dog all over.

English rain is unique, it is specially designed to make you cold wet and miserable simply to give the English something to moan about.

Shower right before you go hiking, and wash hiking outfits every time they are worn. Ticks are attracted to human (and animal) smells, and this has helped me.

I live more north from you and not att the warmer coast climate. I,m happy to skip those parasites. I own 7 dogs and non of them had ever had one on them, but if i cross the border to Norway and have past the first mountains it,s terrible. Not even an one hour drive.

You don't need to worry about tick bites. Its when they are attached to you for long periods of time getting emgorged on your blood. Thats when they can spread disease.

As a kid I always played in the woods in Poland in 60’, 70’ and never had a tick and in 80’ I had one . In 1990 I moved to Western Canada and I’ve spent lots of time in the woods and so far ( knock the wood) I haven’t had even one bite from a tick In 1991 I was working as a tree planter in northern BC and Alberta . I know The Eastern Canada has a big tick problem so my fatherland, Poland. I read that the ticks were kind of weaponized in the USA some time ago and the Lyme disease is a big problem in Europe and North America

Stay away from Bracken Fern. Common in Eastern Australia. This is where I have come across numerous Ticks. Once had hundreds of juvenile Ticks on my clothing, probably from a nest.

These days we find much more ticks than 20-30yrs ago I’m quite convinced the softer winters in Holland are one reason, but for the diseases they carry: I’m so sure it’s man-made too. I heard first hand in an interview that a US lab in the 1970’s INFECTED TICKS on purpose and later dropped them by plane over I guess farmers fields in…either a south-American country or in the south of US. Does anyone know? Take care & check always ❤

I have Lyme and a bunch of other infections from one tick bite. It is detrimental, and life destroying. The US govt brought Nazis back to plumb island and did a lot of experiments and Lyme is one of those. In fact when I got Covid, I thought it was Lyme flaring. It feels the same. The exact same. Even the sore throat is similar to the one that comes with Lyme and the coinfections. The best way is also to spray your clothing with permethrin. The ticks climb trees and wait, or they climb off squirrels and birds and will just come down the trees or drop off. They can glide to an extent just by dropping off into the wind. They are horrible insects.

This makes sense! When I was a kid, I grew up in Northern Minnesota in the woods. Ticks were really bad up there. I wore rubber boots ALOT growing up. My parents always made sure we had rubber boots. I was either barefoot or in boots. I did get less ticks while wearing the boots.

Ticks and other annoying little crawlies are increasing in numbers as their natural predators, such as birds, mice, lizards, frogs, porcupines and others are falling by destruction of habitats, the irresponsible abuse of pesticides, herbicides and all other agricultural chemicals, by the ignorant and bullish approach of man towards the world we're part of. We will learn our place in the world, in one way or the other we will have to learn: or we'll be wiped out by Nature, one way or another.

I have never seen such a bad year for ticks as I have this year in the south. On average I find two ticks on me a day!! Absolutely insane! It’s freaking me out. Eating more garlic, using more lavender, lemongrass spray. With it being 97 degrees out it’s so hard to cover up. Any other tips are greatly appreciated. ❤

Ticks do not like, or live in blueberrys. So in Norway and Sweden that shouldnt be a big problem. Even in northern Germany I never had ticks as a child, until the greenies started to destroy the pine woods

This is one of many reasons I moved and stayed in the SW state in America called, Arizona. It's too dry here for fleas, ticks, and many other bugs/insects. These nasty tiny critters love the humidity! So, with humidity levels low most of the year, I'm talking between 6-15% or so, it helps keep these pests at bay. July and August are typically the Monsoon, which is humid....but, after August passes into September, then once again the humidity levels drop! It's really nice if you can adjust to the dryness. I did, years ago, and I never get tired of low bug/insect levels! 😆

I think we've poisoned the environment badly enough, rubber boots will do. Particularly with a toxic chemical which has finally been banned in Europe for it's high toxicity.

Ticks can only climb up...and sometimes they are on foliage, and branches...I always wear a hat with my hair in a bun and covered by a scarf underneath my hat to make it harder for the tick to fall from the branches onto my head and into my hair. ..

I am glad what you are saying works for you but that will not work where I live. They do not have to crawl up your boots, plenty of trees and bushes here. They grab your clothing with their little claws and they are aboard. Thanks
