I felt the same way. What if the first game had gone extra innings? Thirty minutes is no time to regroup, eat, hydrate, strategize, settle down, etc.

i thought they would play at 7pm if they lost i was surprised they played 30 mins later

I think the brackets should have been staggered instead of right after each other. At the least.

She's correct and it applies to every team in the semis. I think she is speaking in general terms for the benefit of everyone concerned. It's a tough act at such a high level of competition and intensity. I can totally understand being a former player here in Australia, playing double headers, sometimes three games a day, in state tournaments during the summer heat, and being expected to have the physical and mental ability to cope. After a high level game you really do need time to recuperate, reflect, rehydrate and so on. Your college softball in the US is so amazing, just a few more tweaks to look after the welfare of the players and you've got a fabulous formula. It's so entertaining and the fans packing out the stadiums is testament to this.

I agree with Coach Gasso. It would be better if Tuesday is the If Necessary day for the semifinals rather than a guaranteed day off for both finalists. If you reach the semifinals undefeated then win the first game of the semifinals, you've earned a day off to prepare for the finals. If not, then at least the World Series sticks to the one-game-a-day format. The semifinal day is the only day in the entirety of the NCAA Tournament that doubleheaders are even possible.
