Gotta feel for Nodirbek here. Many times we are applauding the brilliance of the combinations these GM's come up with. On this occasion, it didn't work. When Nodirbek played h3, I wondered if he had considered Bb6 (to cover the d8 square). Then his sacrifice would have worked. I also wonder if he had calculated that after ..Qh4, the bishop could come to e2 and stop the perpetual, but didn't visualize the knight on d4 would then be able to capture it?

Nordibeckt's strategic play has left Magnus confused, judging by his expressions in the last few moves. It was not enough, however, to win; he may have sacrificed too many pieces - Queen included - but the draw is close enough for him.

Magnus deliberately plays these tournaments to psychologically damage the youngsters. It's so much fun to watch. A lot of these can actually beat Magnus, but he instills so much damage, that they don't play their usual rhythm.

I think this young generation only memorizes moves rather that understanding on board position that's why magnus is goat he understands the what chess is all about
