I have a sample of it, I smell a lot of opoponax and incense. It’s really a calm, almost religious fragrance. I love it.

I stumbled upon your channel by searching for a black orchid review , so quite random, but I must admit you became one of my favourite fragrance reviewers, because you seem so down to earth, you review the perfume by quite all the different facettes, even speaking about the packaging and such, and also cute and nice character. I'm also glad you reviewed Squid because right now that's the perfume I'm most interested in, the combination of Ambergris and oceanic dark notes make it seem so fascinating. I’ve tested this (sent to me by a lovely smelly friend). I’m not a fan of aquatic fragrances (or floral/green), so I’m not really feeling it, but this is super interesting for an aquatic...per usual with Zoologist. The opening for me is mainly ink and smokey incense, with salt, something mineral, a green floral note, with a very slight sweetness. I like the ink and incense, the rest not so much. I think if one were a fan of aquatic fragrances, green fragrances and can do non mainstream scents then they will probably like it. It’s a no for me though.

Admittedly it's not my favourite Zoologist either as I hold Camel, Moth and Nightingale in such high regard. I'm also not a fan of aquatics but still appreciate this for what it is. :)

Love your review! I feel like you are so underrated. Watched other reviews of Squid, but kept counting down until you reviewed it 😂 you're just the best at it, honestly. I also ordered the limited edition and I feel like there's something similar in it to Camel, but they smell nothing alike... If that makes sense? Although I am far not as gifted as you in describing what I smell 😂 so it's probably just me.

Thanks so much I appreaciate that. Zoologist reviews are always the most fun but also the most challenging, kinda sums them up really. Maybe it's the frankincense you getting from both? They both have a frankincense feeling although it's more prominent in Camel.

So grateful I found you! You describe the scents in a weirdly accurate way! Also love your analogies!! 🤩 Isn’t it amazing that the the world of scents became more broad btw? I remember 30 years ago, as a woman in Eastern Europe every perfume smells like a bunch of flowers and I found it even back then incredibly boring. So ended up wearing men’s perfume for decades. Zoologist Moth became my signature scent when it came out basically, just fell for that scent so hard. Also I got the Squid for my husband, because it’s just phenomenal. Thanks again! my collection focuses mainly on AQUATICS this is in my top 5 Im a big fan of AMBERGRIS & PINK PEPPER & SALT I love this dark mysterious scent for its depth and uniqueness I will wear this all year here in the tropics JIM from MIAMI BEACH

Squids also freak me out! Probably watched too many "giant squid" theories on TV as a kid. The notes and description of this fragrance do seem surprising and unique. The idea of a marine fragrance that isn't fresh is a welcome departure from the typical aquatic. Can't wait to try it!

Smelled this last weekend I thought it was fantastic I tried the entire house in 1 sitting and was torn between buying this or T-rex and in the end i ended up going for T-rex but there was something about squid that was so unique and interesting

Hello! Oh they are VERY different, the aquatic part of Sogno reale is much less pronounced, and also..it's essentially an amber perfume, soft powdery and elegant. Squid is more edgy, smooth...incensey and spicy. They couldn't be further apart. :)

Hello!!! I would guess it's an accord. If it was real ambergris this perfume would probably cost quite a bit more. Who knows though?

I just did a ranking video of every zoologist fragrance 27 to 1. And squid was number 25 :) it is one of my favourite artworks from zoologist and the overall look is great but marine perfumes are not my thing.
