No problem. It's a tough break eh? Getting your head blown off in short order. But that's the breaks. Just be happy for your opponent's win and go about kicking him in the robot shins.

+kereminde I use them as some sort of atmospheric conditioner, a terraformer if you will. They came from OldCrowModels.

Murphy's Law. To some degree, I just like a lot of terrain too. It's a shame that the tempo of that fight significantly affected the pace of the assaults moving along the center.

That we do. Aerotech is awfully vicious isn't it? We've found an air to air engagement practically writes off any ground support.

Do you guys keep track of your pilots and skill points over time?

Nothing concrete. Challenger tank 64, as of this writing has 10 kills and only 2 dismounts (forced withdrawal due to immobilization/CASE explosion). The shiva pilot has a consistent track record of under performing... but I am aiming to put proper names on the sheets and track that.

Anthony Wilson Ok cool, yeah I noticed that in the rulebook every unit that survives a match is supposed to get a point towards lowering their skills. 8 for gunnery and 4 for piloting. I have already started to keep track of that. A fun bit of personal RPG.

Should I get into battletech? Is is expensive compared to other games? ie. warhammer

Compared to Warhammer, you could purchase a single plastic set and have more mechs and stuff than you'd ever use. Battletech really is pauper cheap compared compared to warhammer. So if you think you can get a group interested, I'd go for it!

***** I've spent nearly 1000€ on warhammer... Getting a introductionary set for battletech is only 60€ and it has pretty much all the mechs you want.

What material was used to make the green game board in this game... and how were the hexes made?

Correct. It's an option you can have when ordering. Mine are 1.5" if I recall correctly. All my terrain has been focused around 1.5" hexes.

I use 1.5" hexes, it's a little bigger than 6'x 4'.

Is using forced withdrawal to make the games go faster?

Immensely. It helps also to make the opponent move your unit once it happens to prevent some other vague cheatery.
