Jim, I've been watching your videos with my daughter for years now. She has Rett Syndrome which is very closely related to FOXG1. We deal with crazy scary seizures as well and she actually takes the same meds as Wes. I just want to tell you that I think that the life that you are providing to those kids is phenomenal. I made the choice quite some time ago to try to shift our focus from quantity of life to quality. None of this is easy - I often say it's like playing expert-level whack a mole - and I commend the ways in which you and Tori are continuing to live your life in the way you choose in spite of it all....or because of it all. Eden loves to see Wesley and she laughs whenever he does.You have viewers who get it. Happy travels to you and your family. (And happy birthday Hudson!)

I totally get the need to keep things as normal as possible. We have a child with an autoimmune disease. Once we got everything figured out after his diagnosis, we were right back out there camping, fishing, hiking with both of our boys in all the seasons we have in Alberta. This gave our son the confidence to continue his adventures as a young adult. Watching our son today flourish out on his own with the knowledge needed to keep himself safe and confidence to get out there and explore has convinced me that keeping a child with specific medical needs in a sheltered bubble will hinder them. They need to get out on adventures in order to be able to appreciate life in spite of any of the difficulties that have been thrown at them. Keep doing what you are doing with Wesley!! You are wonderful parents. And, lastly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HUDDY!!!

Although Wesley is doing an awesome job of upstaging mom and dad, it is so nice to see him is alert, and he clearly has a lot to say!! He sure does seem happy, like he totally knows he's the topic of conversation and he kinda likes it. Normally in your videos Wesley seems like such a chill dude, and Hudson is the upstager, he always so active and engaging, but as hard as it is to get a word in edge wise for mom and dad, personally I'm happy to see Wesley looking so happy and opinionated (like most all kids are). No seizures for three years is a pretty good record. That said, Huddy's bahavior reminds me of when my kids were that age when I would be on the phone. They would be playing quietly and being little angels, but as soon as I'd get on the phone, all hell would break loose. Mine knew they could get away with misbehavior because I was on the phone and couldn't monitor them as closely. HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUDDY! Three years old! I'm glad it turned out OK! Totally understand the seizure/med roller coaster with growing kids. My daughter had a similar thing when we were camping near Jasper (only 2 seizures though... not 8!!). Its scary but life still needs to be lived so I applaud you for still getting out. She was on tegretol too but it took alot of trials and error before we got it dialed in. Great job family!

Little dudes as happy as a pig in mud. That type of stuff is hard for the parents, but kids take it in stride as long as the adults keep their head. You are amazing parents! Those seizures were so long! I love that you know your shit and how to prepare to take care of your family! Our family loves the outdoors too(not so extreme haha) and we travel with meds and back up plans, let people know where we are and when they should expect our return! It meant the world to us as kids. Then I raised my kids the same and they loved it too! And now they have taken their newborns out! So kudos to you both to have the courage to carry on! ❤🎉
