Neze babe, I'm just loving this video. Everyone is so happy and looking so fine. Mama ville is forever so cute. Regarding Nenye's sucking of her fingers, pls.pls.pls. do all you can to stop her cos what most folks do not know is that sucking fingers especially for protracted periods of time ends up pushing the gum of the upper teeth forward and by the time the baby starts teething, the teeth will be wrongly aligned with all the teeth on the jaw. I promise you, it becomes an automatic dental situation that will require braces to push back. How do I know all of this? I am exactly a good example of what I just described. I sucked only my right thumb from 5months of age until my primary 6 and I got my upper dentition badly aligned as a result. Nenye is too cute to have this dental issue. Go ahead use the bitteleaf juice to coat those fingers, it will stop her. My mom used it b4 I could stop. She allowed me for too long because she had no idea I was causing some damage. Pacifiers may not work so go bitterleaf juice my sis. Thanks so much for sharing.

I think you're doing well already by wearing her the hand gloves. The bitterleaf idea isn't bad sha, just keep taking her hand away from her mouth also. Sorry that she's doing that, but maybe the gum is itchy and she's trying to ease it. Could she be teething, it's rather early though. If so, a teething ring will curb it.

OK, pretty woman. The method that I used when my twins were sucking their fingers was that I bought a roll of gauze, rolled over the whole fingers loosely to avoid it constricting the blood vessels. Then I used plaster to hold it in place. And it worked well because it deterred them from the dirty habit. The disadvantages are much ranging from regular upper respiratory tract infections like tonsillitis and pushing out the dentition.

Hi Neze, the quickest way that worked for me was putting a plaster round the finger being sucked. That way the baby could stop sucking in less than three days as long as you keep the plaster on and replace with a new one each time it falls off.

Mom sucking on the thumb, all fingers is merely a comfort for the child. Having said that you have to be actively implementing substitutes, please, please do not be aggressive or impatient with the process. An easy try will be putting on scratch gloves on both hands. She will fuss or cry that's fine but you have to stay with the process for it to be a success. Love 💘 Mom and the rest of the family 👪 🎉🎉🎉

I understand you clearly when you say you guys don't want her to suck anything at all. I also didn't want son to suck anything at all so didn't give him Pacifier. I intentional made it unavailable cuz I saw kids using it right upto 5 and was like wow plus I felt like it would distract the child as well so far as Academic is concerned 😂Mother's and their worries 😅lol So my son started sucking his fingers as well 😅 I was like ahhh Oga you are finally looking every means possible to suck 🤦🏾‍♀️😂 Well, I was always taking out the fingers till I got tired😅 and he eventually stopped. Didn't do much for that to happen. He just stopped on his own. But what happened is this, he sucks when he's eating 😂😂I said wow, what a creative young man 😅😅like seriously he's 2,5 now and hasn't stopped sucking his tongue while eating especially when eating the last piece. That got me thinking if I should have just introduced pacifiers to him Cuz it seemed like all my efforts to avoid sacking were in vain. But since baby Chinye started pretty early, and she doesn't yet have the energy to take off the handgloves, she might get tired of it and give up. But you should be on the lookout cuz she might look for another medium to soothe herself. Goodluck Neze 🤗❤️

Princess is most likely teething that is why she is sucking, so you can get her some teething toys and freeze it so she can suck on the coolness to calm her gums down. You can also look for some teething cream online that can be used to cool her gums down

Very nice video my sweet amiable namesake. I think the major antidote is to curb it as early as possible. I have 5 children and 4 out of 5 of them sucked till they were 3 and half years before they stopped. Different ways for each of them. My first daughter sucked her thumb and we started plastering it with plasters, after sometime she moved to the next finger and the next finger until we were plastering the 10 fingers, she tried to suck the plaster and we made it even bigger until her fingers could not enter her mouth. We eventually won when she got to 3 years. She is 18+ now. My 1son sucked too, his thumb, I introduced the plaster, but one of the times I left the plaster on his finger for like 1 week(cos I usually open it up after 2-3days to allow the finger get some air and to check whether the toddler has forgotten sucking) when I finally opened it after 1 week, it has gotten really inflamed and the pain made him to stop. He was also about 3 years then, he is 13+. My 3rd girl, sucked her index finger, I can't even remember how she stopped. She is almost 12. Then my little cuppy.... (Child of my old age lol) he is 4 now, he sucked his 2 fingers, I bought plaster until the person I was buying from, banned me from coming to her shop to buy plaster, one day I just threatened the boy that I was going to use a knife and cut off his finger... He did not suck his finger that night and many more days and nights after until today. It was like magic. That was about 1 and half years ago. He will be 5 years on October 1. In summary, curbing it as early as possible is the way out ooo

It looks like Nenye might possibly be teething early hence why she is putting her hands in her mouth, if you have noticed recent drooling or increase in drooling that could also indicate that she will possibly teeth early. The only advice I have would be to offer her a pacifier instead if she will take it so that she hopefully stops sucking her fingers

My babies refused pacifiers. My 1st daughter didn't suck her fingers at all rather she loves sucking mama's breast until a year plus. Her daddy had to literally stop her from disturbing his wife oooo no be small tinooo for me then... to my second daughter she sucked her big finger till 4yrs, it was a big battle, we started early stopping her from doing that but to no avail, my husband started tying that particular finger with small bandage 😅, this girl went over the other finger and started sucking ooo, we bought finger nail bitters like nail polish from pharmacy here in abroad specifically for babies that sucks their fingers, this girl will suck it small small and removed all the bitter taste then continue her job 😂😂😂, finally when she started kindergarten her teachers complained a little so my husband decided to tie the bought fingers before she sleeps at night, she cried so much those nights, the next day being Saturday we where all at home and she came to me and asked me to untie her both fingers 😀, I told her that if I take it out that she will perceive something smelling from her both fingers and if she put her finger in her mouth that she will equally smell and all of us will run away and leave her all alone, my sister from that day my Ella stopped sucking her finger and today she is one of the best intelligent students in her Class 😊.
