I'm 43 this year, I've finished a few on this list, Super Meat Boy, Cuphead, Celeste plus Hollow Knight. I'm currently playing N++ and I'm pretty sure this will be the last hard game I play. It sucks getting older.

This is a great list and I'm happy to see SMT V on it. I'm really looking forward to SMT V: Vengeance and some similar games I would suggest for those who like these games are Blasphemous I & II, Death's Gambit: Afterlife, Vigil: The Longest Night (If it becomes available again for the Switch, the PC version is now available), The Last Faith, Vambrace: Cold Soul, Slain: Back From Hell, Valfaris, Castlevania Anniversary Collection, Tactics Ogre: Reborn, and Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights.

Great list! IMO Hades isnt that hard until you beat the story which allows you to unlock self-imposed challenges. Maybe you will have problems with certain bosses the first time you fight them or they unlock certain mechanics

Shoutout to The Knight Witch and Unsighted. Completed these 2 last month. There's a reason the devs put an invincible cheat for The Knight Witch. I don't know how anyone could beat either of these 2 games by normal means. Really enjoyed Unsighted as well.

Ghosts 'n Goblins on Switch is great. Although I only managed to get to the 2nd stage & then put it down for something else that came out. I remember playing the Sega Genesis Ghouls 'n Ghosts (same IP) back in the 90s. Loved that so much, I had to get this latest one on the Switch. Wish it had a physical release.

I'd add the La-Mulana series. Not only is the platforming challenging and the boss fights pretty hard, but it also has incredibly difficult puzzles.

Glad you've got Dark Souls on here, I hate it when people say "It's not THAT hard!" Goddamn, that game chewed me up and spat me out more times than I care to mention! It HAS made me a better gamer though. I don't rage-quit so much, I've achieved a Zen like calm..

It's interesting how the view of Dark Souls has changed so much over time. When it first came out it was too hard, and confusing, and I angrily dropped it. A friend eventually convinced me to go back, and now any Souls-like game is no big deal, and the first Dark Souls is probably the easiest in the series. So I get where people are coming from, but when it's completely brand new to you, it is just brutal, man haha.

I've beaten Hades, Cuphead, and a couple of others from the list multiple times. I only managed to BARLEY beat Ghosts N Goblins on regular difficulty ONCE. It is easily the most difficult game on the list by a country mile. I love the game though.

Hard game for me would be Poison Control. You have to manage your ammo wisely and be strategic with avoiding damage or absorbing the poison in certain areas to help with combating enemies and restoring your health. The boss fights can be tough if your not expecting a second boss after defeating one. The game also has some annoying issues that made the game harder for me atleast.

The only one I played at length was Darkest Dungeon and I did love it but it's brutal. I think I was able to get through it because it wasn't precision-based difficulty but something I could maybe, possibly outthink. Alas, I didn't finish it but I did sink lots of hours! I don't care for hard games often, especially if it requires me to memorize patterns or precision in actions/moves. I don't have the memory or patience. But if there's just a chance I might be able to out-think the challenge, then I can sometimes really dig in if it's done well. And I'd say Darkest Dungeon hits that mark for me.

Princess Madelyn Royal Edition is the hardest game I have ever played. Cant get past level 2 after 6 hours. It is difficult because you the time is limited for a level and you don't continue at the boss. When you die at the boss, you need to redo the whole level. This is cheap mechanic to artificially extend the play time.

I bought the physical version of Cuphead.I can’t get past the tutorial.I returned the game to Amazon and got a full refund.That game is a hoax.
