Well, it depends on what they want though. It is their home after all, and home is a very personal thing. It is important that they feel free to make the changes they envisioned, so they are happy and comfortable in their space. Terracotta tiles are beautiful, but they don't necessarily work with every setting. One has to consider the overall style of the entire home and the flow from one space to the next. The spaces they have so far finished, particularly the kitchen, communicates that their style is more on the modern side with brighter/neutral colored walls and flooring, with touches of rustic furnishing. So, only they can decide if or how the old terracotta tiles work with the design ideas they had in mind.
