Trees are one of the most invasive species. Just see how they populate redundant railway and canal routes. However there is no money in letting nature take its course.

Invasive species are organisms not indigenous or native to an area. National Highways promotes planting of native tree species. Active planting programmes speed up the establishment of beneficial tree cover. To be welcomed, not sniped at.
