Glad you enjoyed it and I do regret not sampling the marmalade!

You're in my birthplace, but as often happens seeing more of it than I ever did! Nice to meet a kangaroo and an echidna on your way, and to have the dangers of inchmen pointed out to you (ouch!). 30 years ago there was much less concern about invasive species in the bush - impressive to see the measures in place along your route.

Thanks Catherine, as always an interesting comment which I really appreciate and enjoy. As you say, really impressive measures in place which I enjoyed 😁! Thanks for watching.

Looks like an amazing walk. I live in Australia but grew up in Lancashire so I've enjoyed watching your GOW video and your Pendle Way ones as well.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed the Pendle Way as well, it’s a little gem. Cheers

Wow absolutely loved your latest video! Will send my dad your video link! Loved the kangaroo!! Hope the sun shone for you for the rest of your trip. Did you camp inbetween the walks ? X

Thanks for doing the share, hope your Dad enjoys it. Yes had great weather for the rest of the holiday. Between the walks was actually staying in a chalet in the bush, great Aussie experience. Cheers

Great to see you made a start and in excellent company, over here in west Australia it’s been a bit too hot to do much on the Bibbulman track am hoping to do more before heading back to the Uk
@AmblingTrails7 ай бұрын
Thanks, I can image must have been difficult for the Bibbulman Track as we did visit parts of W Australia as well, hope you manage get more miles in. Cheers

Great to meet you guys as well, yes the tent was excellent ⛺️👍🏼😁
Nigel, An interesting walk. When you mentioned you were doing this walk, I googled it and thought it seemed rather prescriptive with making you register beforehand, take the full 8 days to do it, specifying where you could stay, etc, but you seemed to have circumnavigated that and just barrelled on through. Four days to walk the 110km sounds like a much better pace, although that heat would have affected me. Did you do any other walking while you were in Aussieland? Seeing you've now posted this, I assume you made it back to the U.K. safe and sound. With the frequency you post your videos, I wouldn't be surprised if you weren't already out on your next adventure. I'll be in touch soon (now) with (way too many) questions, and to see how each of our 2025 plans are shaping up, and whether they will overlap some. Ryk.

Hi Ryk, yes I was out on the trail doing the Six Dales, just back so here is my response. GOW was an interesting walk and although the weather was somewhat dismissal (for Australia) it certainly helped my hiking ambitions. It's worth considering if you get chance, as you say you can just barrel along at your chosen pace and out of season the weather can be kinder. Did not do any other walks as I was mainly there for a holiday with my wife. Will respond to your other questions soon. Cheers

At least we don’t have leeches. Do have snakes though. Not fond of those big ants. Interesting hike though. What pack is that you have Nigel thanks?😊❤
@AmblingTrails7 ай бұрын
Yep, there was a danger of snakes, but luckily none appeared! The pack was an Ultimate Direction running pack that I sometimes use as a day pack, possibly I've had it for about 15 years! Thanks for watching.

Those gators are a good idea!Thanks so much. I need a day pack about that size. I see the word MATE on the back so wasn’t sure if that was a brand. Ah I see it now!😊
