Our Avantime Adventure Part 1 / The road to Romorantin - the home of the Avantime

To celebrate owning my Avantime Marie for 10 years in March 2023, I along with my friend Matt decided to make the 1000 mile round trip to the home of Matra, where the Avantime was built.
As famously known, Matra went into administration when building the Avantime, and was subsequently shut down. Only remnants of the factory are left as well as the Matra museum capturing the history of this fascinating brand.
This is part 1, capturing our journey down, part 2 covers our experience hiring a citroen 2CV, part 3 will cover the matra museum, and part 4 the Citroen Conservatoire and journey home.
In this episode I reflect on some of my memories of my Avantime and our history together.
Does the Avantime make it home? This after all is my first trip over 200 miles in many many years, after a plethora of issues that have caused my headaches over the years.
