It's wonderful to be able to give birth in a facility where you continously feel validated and supported. In some ways it was probably a blessing the other hospital sent you home, since they clearly didn't have the same mindset of the hospital you did end up at! On another note, John's unconditional love and support just blows me away on a consistent basis. You hit the jackpot on this great guy! ❤

As a former doula, I'm so glad you followed your instincts that you needed to change birth places. Not very many parents feel they can do that at the end of pregnancy/labor, but you most definitely can. You are not married to your provider/ birth place. Good for you!

Congratulations! She's beautiful! My first two babies were born at the hospital. My last two babies were born at a birth center. I got to go home about 6 hours after delivery. My midwives do two home baby checks and postpartum checks and the rest were done at the birth center. I was 43 and 45 years old when I had my last two babes. I'll be 47 soon. My youngest is 15 months old! So precious!

Sweetie I know what you went through with your labor. I was in labor for 36 hours. I only had back labor. It was horrible. I wanted to go all natural, which I did, but dumb! Worse pain ever. Never went natural again. Next time I said bring on that epidural quick. The only way to go! Although I did still experience some back labor, but not like before.Lol! I’m so sorry you had to endure all that. But to look at you, you would never know you had a baby because you look so beautiful! It’s amazing as soon as you lay eyes on your beautiful gift from God, you forget about all the pain and stress you just went through to bring her into this world! It’s unbelievable! Congratulations on Maci, she is going to have so much love! 💕💕 She is absolutely beautiful! 🥰😍❤️
