I’m sorry that this happened 😢 definitely my least favorite thing about being a home owner and it usually will happen at the most inconvenient times. My wife and i recently went to NYC for the first time and fell in love! Cannot wait to go back!

Oh my gosh you guys have had a couple of crazy weeks! The New York trip looked wonderful. Being a house owner can be very stressful at times and dealing with the home owners insurance company is never fun. Hope your eye gets better Allie! Love your videos always.

The only downside of home ownership is when disasters hit, it's on you to fix it either yourself or hiring a specialist. We lived on a river, it flooded but was not touching the house YAY right? I went to the basement & it was flooded mid way up the carpeted stairs. It came up through the cement floor when the water table went to surface level. So much was ruined in both of the rooms. I had a lot in big plastic tubs which helped BUT one year later I opened one with my material stash & everything was soaked like the flood had just happened. (We had moved in that time too!) Luckily no mold from the flood & the washer & dryer still worked!

I hope you didn’t have too much of an issue with your insurance company. Back in 2013 we had really big floods here in my area, river peaked at 19m and about 20 homes were flooded just in town (which is a huge amount for my small town). The insurance companies were being huge pains and not wanting to pay people but luckily one woman helped get it sorted I’m in Queensland Australia
