Thank you SO much for pointing out how overwhelmed our husbands can feel with the pressures of being our home’s leader! ❤️ I feel that many women who object to the idea of being a suitable helper don’t understand the pressure our husbands feel because they don’t express with their words how difficult that role can be! Thank you for saying that 👏

A very insightful message. The whole idea of a helper is so underrated, but one of the Holy Spirit’s roles in our lives as Christians is that of a helper. So as a wife, to fulfill the role of helper is to be in alignment with the Holy Spirit. It allows the Holy Spirit to use you to carry out this function in your husbands life.

I have failed at many things in my life, but I know I have done my best to be a good wife and mum. We have a strong marriage of over 33 years. I love my husband and know he is the one God created for me. Ladies, be blessed in the role God has for you. Don't rush to marry. Let God find your Husband for you. Do not be unequally yoked to an unbeliever. Find a man you can pray with. 🙏🏻

Amen amen and amen! 👏🏻 I think one of the best ways to know how to help one’s husband is to simply ask! As I always tell my children when they provoke each other by “helping,”😂 “It’s not really helping if he doesn’t want it...” 😉

You remind me of a girl I went to school with. She was on the track team & so perfect. I always thought she was just so perfect in every way. Thank you so much for this beautiful video. I wasn't raised on the bible, so learning how to be a godly wife is like going back to school learning a new language, but I'm starting to fully see the beauty behind God's design & why He gave these instructions to us ladies. Hi Alana. I know this video is old but I just recently found your content and it’s been a blessing! I’m 24 and engaged to be married. I grew up in a divorced home and although my mom did her best, she did not teach me how to be a wife and I had no true understanding of what a godly wife looks like in the context of a marital home since I grew up in a broken home. I’ve prayed to God to teach me how to be a Godly wife and He lead me to your videos. From the bottom of my heart I want to say thank you so much for being a model for young women like me♥️♥️♥️

@@AlanaL3 @Habits of a Homemaker By God's grace I need help? I can even talk to your husband to tell him exactly what's going on to see if he would allow you to talk to my wife please please. I'm begging you, please help if your husband would allow you to. I'm about to lose my wife. @Raquel H- Women Living Torah Hello I mean no harm. But I'm nearly in tears right now and I'm hurting badly. My wife is wanting to leave me because we had an argument and my voice didn't yell but it was raised more than the normal. And now she's actually wanting to end the marriage and separate from me and divorce me. I do have some flaws like all men. But I've never hit her, I've never cursed her, I've been faithful and our marriage, I provide, I honor her, I praise her out in the gates in the city, I compliment her I am home faithfully, I don't do drugs, I train my children up, I teach her the scriptures, we pray together, we read the word of God together. But I do have shortcomings. There are times when I do get angry, times where I am imperfect,. But her reason to leave me a divorce me is nothing biblical at all for no biblical reason is she wanting to separate from me. Could I get you to maybe talk to my wife or just a short while because I see that you are a lady that has learned how to be submissive. If your husband would allow it could you do it for me? I made mention of the subject of polygamy one time, to see my wife's thoughts on it to tell her that I've had thoughts about it. But at the end of the conversation I let her know that I can stay monogamous for the rest of my life. I think this offended her greatly at one point of time. But there's times where she's brought it up to me and ideas about it as well. But when it was all said and done I told her that I would stay totally with her to the end. Please help me please? Ask your husband if it's okay that you can talk to my wife please? This is a truly crying out for help man right here that is broken hearted and afraid. I can give you my email address as well and then through there I can give you my phone number so that I can talk to you and maybe you can call my wife. Please I'm crying out for help

Well said. I am thankful that has a healthy understanding of the word submission. Unfortunately, a lot of women believe that submission means weakness. Subordinates submit to management in the workplace, athletes submit to their coaches, and military personnel submit to their chain of command. Neither scenario denotes weakness, but a deference to an established order of leadership. We believe that God established an order for marital leadership as well, its just that society has done a good job of distorting it.

I am SO glad you are doing marraige Monday again! I have loved every marraige video you have put out. They are so encouraging and exactly what I need and filled with godly truth. I have been struggling lately with my role as a wife. I'm not sure why. We've been married 17 years and have 4 kids. We've come a long way but I feel like I've hit a little rough spot. I'm very careful about which books to read for life struggles. I used to read lots of then but they started making me feel guilty about things I do wrong and their goals were always unattainable for me. I would end discouraged. That being said, if you were to pick one book that has helped you as a wife, what would that be? I'm a believer and read the word everyday and pray daily throughout the day. But I feel like I need some great suggestions for me as a wife today. I need a fresh perspective.❤️

I ASK FOR YOU ALL PRAYERS, PLEASE! I sent my wife this video. Not sure if she watched it. I assumed not, as we are separating now. I love her but she is so disrespectful now. I come home to fussing, accusing, blame, others are better.....etc. I'm done. I work 6 days a week, allow her to handle the money, she has 2 new vehicles (Jeep Wrangler - Ford King Ranch), just gave her control of almost 100k that she blew, she had new everything. She doesn't work....but stated that I can only have sex a certain time of the day, and she does not feel that she should have to cook all the time for me. When I asked to have special time like coffee mornings with breakfast (and volunteered to help make it, she refused), when I get up to work, being very quiet, she gets upset cause she says she needs sleep. So I see all these wives, many who are not Christian, and they are humble and sweet. I think I deserve that. We all have our flaws and I've been praying, fasting & reading to be a better husband. But I listened to you and heard the songs "It's in God's Hand Now" by Anointed and "You Just Don't Want To Know" by Marvin Winans that's what's getting me thru. I'm tired. I want a Godly wife so bad....but I question. Thank you and Jesus blessed the women who listen to you

I found your channel a couple months before I got married. When we got married we where on the same page spiritually. My husband has now decided to convert to Eastern Orthodoxy. I know that the way I handle this situation could either make or break our marriage. I know I need to submit to him but I see several things in Eastern Orthodoxy that I don’t see in the Bible and possibly is quite wrong. I need wisdom to see where to draw the line in the sand. I know prayer is so important right now. So far I have decided to go to the Eastern Orthodox Church with my husband and to continue to have and maintain relationships with the ladies in my church and go to my Bible study and as many other gatherings that I can.

So sorry to hear that Elizabeth :( that sounds very difficult. My brother in law is Eastern Orthodox... I think the main thing there to ask would be the question of justification. That is, how are we made right with God? Is it solely because of what Jesus has done for us, or also on the basis of our works? I say that's the main question because of my understanding of the teachings of the Eastern Orthodox church and because of what Paul says in Galatians 1:6-9 (there is only one gospel). The Galatians were on the cusp of falling away from the teaching of grace and making the mistake of relying upon works (particularly circumcision and various Jewish days of observance) + what Jesus has done for them. In fact, Paul writes as if some in Galatia had already done just that (5:2-4). I have not researched the EO church in a while though, but see, for example, www.oca.org/questions/teaching/faith-and-works. Maybe you could read Galatians through with your husband and then afterwards research what the EO church teaches about justification, and then gently discuss your concerns with him? Just an idea for your consideration.
@elizabethrose6853
@elizabethrose6853 4 жыл бұрын
Nemo liber est qui copori servit, unfortunately my husband is not open to talk about this subject for the most part. When ever I try to it becomes all about what the EO has right. One of his main arguments is that the Bible does say one church and they claim to be it. My husband is a very smart man and he is well read and better equipped to argue a point then I am. I also just do not want to debate with my husband and that ends up happening.

Thank you for your video. As a men, I have to add something to this. When the wife doesn’t go after her calling to be the helper and supporter of her husband, he will definitely notice it and that way she will create a gap between them. When a woman gets married, she’s unter the “control” of her husband and just as I, as a husband, have to obey God, so she has to obey God as well by obeying her husband. When a man sees his wife is doing her own thing, it makes him very very sad and that’s where his ways get rocky, although she should be the one helping him getting away of the rocks. Anyways, thank you for your words the wo woman and wife’s out there. God bless.

@aSwayze
@aSwayze Жыл бұрын
The help your husband needs is to have his core needs met. Do you let him be your hero? Do you reinforce his authority and trust his judgement? Are you cheering him on and giving him room to make mistakes without criticism? Do you receive him well? Do you show appreciation in a way that makes him feel appreciated? Do you compete with him ? Have you let him earn your respect? These are all acts of submission and the way you help your husband. He wants a capable wife who treats him like a capable husband. He doesn't want you to do the work for him or with him, he wants you to be on the side with the kids making him look good, cheering him on, letting him prove to you that he's got it. Be spiritually, emotionally, mentally, socially, physically available! ❤️

This is good Alana. Do you think some husbands can struggle with this concept of needing their wife’s help and have a hard time expressing what they need help with? Or do you think husbands are always asking for our help in their own way and we are totally missing it as a wife and resisting helping instead?
@AlanaL3

I believe that the creation of a woman was the crowning and final and the most glorified moment of human creation. That we start with light and dark and land and sea and we move through fish and fowl and the beast of the field and we get to Adam and it’s still not good enough. Only when Eve was created….this is what I believe that the crowning creation and the glory of the human experience came with the creation of Eve.

Question...at this stage of life I'm actually the primary financial provider for our home (like 90% of our income). So I feel like in some ways we have traded roles at least temporarily. How can I honor God and my husband while still feeling like I'm being supported as the person supporting the home and gone working most of the time?

Is this temporary? I’d def make sure it is. You’re going to be locked in for life if you don’t switch back to man being main provider. It may be fine now, but you may not always feel that way, hubby too. I’d say do what you can physically, but get help where needed, but your heart/mind/ desires should be rooted at home.

Hi Alana, I would like to ask you a question. I was reading my Bible the other day and was studying 1 Corinthians and I noticed 1 Corinthians 11 states very clearly that a woman dishonors her head if she prays or prophesies without a covering on her head and the title for chapter 11 in my Bible says "INSTRUCTION FOR PUBLIC WORSHIP" it is very clear.... is that something women are supposed to be doing when they are at church? Or should they be covering their hair every time they pray? Just want to know what your thoughts are on this?
@AlanaL3
@AlanaL3 4 жыл бұрын
He is speaking to the corinthians about specific situations there, not the church as a whole, even in those days it only applies to the corinthians.
@glitter2664
@glitter2664 4 жыл бұрын
You know alot more than I do about the bible .....so is there any proof or anything that tells us that he was only speaking to the Corinthians?
@AlanaL3
@AlanaL3 4 жыл бұрын
Well, the first clue to that is that the letter is titled Corinthians. It is a letter directly to the Corinthians and then 2 Corinthians is another letter directly to the Corinthians. There are definitely truths about our salvation and our faith in Jesus that apply to us even if they are in letters to other churches, but there are also specific things that were occurring in those times that he addresses that can’t apply to us because they have nothing to do with what we are going through. There is no commandment in scripture for women to cover their heads. We are absolutely free in Christ. We are commanded to love God and love your neighbor. The danger with adding “law” to our lives is that we start to think that what we do is actually what saves us. It also can creep in to our hearts to judge others that don’t “see” what we see as a commandment in the Scriptures, making us puffed up or self righteous, also we may become puffed up if we can actually live up to the outward law, or we can feel exceedingly discouraged if we can’t live up to it. That’s why the gospel is so freeing! The law, which is referred to as a burden by Paul, is released from us. Now it is by grace through faith no longer the law that we are saved. We are free! Jesus fulfilled it perfectly because he is the only one that could! :-) We must cling to the fact that what Jesus did on the cross, believing that, having faith, And as a result God giving us the free gift of salvation is what saves us. Nothing that we do. But, as believers we are given lists and lists of instructions on how to live a godly life throughout Paul’s epistles. They are all pretty much summed up to walk in the spirit, love others in everything that you do, honor God with your body, mind, soul, avoid/hate evil. I hope this is helpful. Don’t get tied down by outward practices that will only cripple your faith or make you judge others for not doing the same.
@glitter2664

Yes that makes perfect sense and your right thats my problem is that i keep trying to find a list of dos and dont and even though I don't want to feel this why there is still a part of me that can't get over the fact that we have no control over our salvation...... and it is really hard because every time I mess up by getting aggravated at my husband or being too hateful towards my children and not having any patients I feel condemned and I read my Bible and pray but I don't really know how to stop that feeling.......

Sadly, there are many women in developed nations who are doing very well in their careers. And their mentality is to deliberately avoid marriage and childbearing. Like they rather remain single and spend time having high tea with friends, shopping and gossiping about their bosses and colleagues. Any thoughts about this? Because I feel that God made women stronger than men when it comes to childbearing. We men have it much easier than women and I don’t deny that. We just have sex with the woman and ejaculate inside her. A woman’s journey towards womanhood and motherhood begins right at the onset of puberty where she begins having breasts and needing to wear bras which some would find it annoying. Also, the monthly menstrual cycle starts and she has to deal with the bleeding and cramps. And from the moment of conception, she carries the weight of her growing baby inside her body before dealing with more pain during childbirth. And when one thinks it’s over, it’s not true. Breastfeeding becomes the next set of struggles and the cycle repeats itself with the next child or she just have to deal with her monthly cycle. God has His reasons for allowing things to happen so I’m wondering if many women today have lost touch with God’s intended purpose for their body.

I would like to know if God said that one of the roles of women is to satisfy their husband’s sexual desire when he feels like having sex? Is it wrong for a woman to always deny her husband of sex just because she’s tired? I feel that the world is full of sin and the devil always tempts a man to look for sex elsewhere. Which is why I feel that it is important for a woman to always be there to satisfy her husband. It’s a way to protect the marriage and keep him faithful. Any inputs on this?

I think it depends on what your husband needs help with. :-) There may be things my husband needs help with that other husbands do on their own with no problem, there may be things my husband does not want/need help with that other husbands do you want help with, etc. Every wife has to know what her husband’s needs are so that she can help him best. Sometimes they don’t know how to articulate what they need help with and we need to look for the areas in their life that we can be of service.
