Strangely this video showed up today in my "in box". I thought, "oh no", their new market trailer did not work because today is your first day at market with the new concept. However, it was fun to see the old farm and realize you have only been on the existing farm for two years. My oh my, how quickly it has already changed and improved under your management. Nice to see the brooders on camera, which are still functioning exactly as they were on the previous farm. Hope the new trailer worked out even better than planned. God bless you two.

Good strong 4 to 5 foot non climb woven wire and 3 - 4 strands of hot high tinsel electric on the inside and above the woven wire makes a great perimeter fence. Is what I installed 28 years ago and have never had a animal break through it and leave the farm unaccompanied. Livestock including stallions, bulls, pigs sheep, goats have huge respect for it and don't challenge the fences. 😁. Has given me huge peace of mind knowing no one is going to end up on the road or ruining neighbors yards and gardens. It was an expense but more so a long term investment. Strong fence makes a good neighbor and keeps your neighbors happy as well.

I've got 130 acres in the Berkshire mountain's of western massachusetts.beef cattle, and yorkshires.. had creek issues .till one day the wife says why don't we build a bridge...got my bro in law with his welder ,and we have a bridge now the cattle,and hogs pass right on threw...gated at both ends. Hope it helps...

I agree about the perimeter fencing! That was one thing I was willing to invest in early on with our operation. You have to know you are going to be there for a long time for it to really pay for itself, but I don't worry at night about pigs getting out, not predators getting in, with the flex fence I have installed. Looking forward to seeing the new farm! Bless y'all

We have slowly redone almost all the perimeter fencing since we bought our farm. We did have a cow get out early one morning. Black angus hit by an F250 at 5am. Was a terrible experience. We have chased cows and horses many times. They are true grazers so feed buckets don’t always work like they do for pigs. Leave those regrets behind and move on.

We’ve been lucky not to have anything get to the road. The new place isn’t close to the highway so that will help too. We’ve learned a lot of good stuff here that we can take with us. Couldn’t imagine the mess that truck vs. cow made. 🥺
@tillmanfamilyfarm7759
@tillmanfamilyfarm7759 3 жыл бұрын
It wasn’t good. The truck hit the breaks pretty hard but still broke her shoulder. She was about 6 months breed with what was to be one of our first calves. She limped off behind a house at the end of our pasture. I talked to the home owner and waited until they went to work. I put her down there then took her to a local processor that worked his magic. The road kill steaks were bad at all.

@@SheratonParkFarms I thought so based on the dimensions and overhangs. I grew up near Reidsville, NC (Rockingham County). There's still quite a few tobacco farmers in the upper Piedmont.
