This made me nervous, I’m pregnant with my second and I’ll be having another c section, the first one didn’t hurt at all, I did feel some pressure of them pulling the baby out but very minor and no pain… why did it hurt you? Did they not give you enough pain medicine? Did the epidural not work? I’m curious to know since you looked like you were in a lot of pain honestly..

I've had 3 soon to be 4. It's not pain. It's intense pressure. You can feel the cutting and the organs being moved around. Many women vomit. It's extremely uncomfortable. Not to mention the recovery is brutal.

I had a c section 5 months ago. You feel VERY intense pressure. Like a elephant is crushing you to death. It's so much pressure that it hurts.

I was wondering this too, I'm sure it's different for everyone. I felt no pain during my c-section in 2019, pressure sure, but no pain. Don't be nervous, communicate with your anesthesiologist throughout, and they will adjust your meds accordingly! Best of luck!

I know your pain, I have had 3 c sections. I will say the first one is the worst. C sections are much better with the spinal tap instead of epidural. My first c section was an emergency after 4 days of labor and i had epidural, it was the most painful thing I've ever done. My second one was with the spinal tap instead of epidural and I barely felt anything. My third was also the spinal tap and it wasnt very painful either. I have 1 boy and 2 girls, my son is 5 years old, my first daughter is 2 years old, and my second daughter is 11 months old.

@@keyshells1 I suspect much of it was psychological. Especially considering that she wasn't originally planning to have a c section. It's like when you stub your toe and say "ow" before realizing that the sensation you're feeling isn't actually pain. The combination of pressure, hormones, anxiety, and fear of the unknown probably contributed to it as well. Only in extreme emergency situations would they operate on a patient without them being properly medicated/sedated. That being said, if she only had an epidural, she probably did feel more pressure than she would've if she'd had a spinal. My first ended up as an emergency c section, and the epidural wore off by the time they put me on the operating table, so they had to put me to sleep. I'll be having my second via scheduled c section this summer, and I'm actually looking forward to it because it'll be a much calmer and more controlled experience.

@@katiealmond1207 I'm guessing her spinal failed, as local anesthetic doesn't work for everyone. They should have put her to sleep once she started showing signs of sharp pain though
