The reason Diablo has on a butler uniform is to show his loyalty to Rimuru. Before he had on his prince of hell outfit, but now that he serves Rimuru, he wants to show his absolute loyalty and that he's below him in standing. Diablo would love to fight Demiurge for the title of biggest simp. He too thinks Rimuru is perfect in every way possible, can do no wrong and thinks Rimuru has a plan when he's clueless.

They are still hobgoblin. Only hobgoblin who became ogre are from benimaru's group called kurenai which has around 300 members.

Concerning the Recap episodes, they were not part of the original broadcast of the Slime series, but were instead were released as DVD OVA release as a bonus for some of the manga releases. The episode 36.5 recap IMHO is worth watching, just for revealing what was happening inside Rimuru with Veldora and the Demon Slime transition. Of the other OVA releases that are not recaps, (and are not in your review list) IMHO the mandatory ones to watch is the last 3 episodes of the 5 episode OVA group, as this has the introduction of Tiss-sensei and explains the special relationship she establishes with the kids and why she became the replacement teacher for Rimuru-sensei. It also explains why she reappears in the 2nd half of 3rd season.

This was episode #2 that I was waiting for you guys to see, you've spoken so much of Veldora and how much you wanna see him again, and, well, there he is! As for Diablo, kind of a spoiler but I'm not sure it really gets explained in the anime, I'm also not sure I am 100% correct on this. . . He has lived for a very, very long time, and, simply put, he's bored. But Rimuru is doing new things that have never before been done (uniting monsters, new technologies like hot springs, etc) so for the first time in a long time, he found something, or someone, that interests him. Rimuru is basically a cure to his boredom and he is so happy he actually has something to look forward to in life again.

Lets clear up some confusion that the anime does a terrible job of explaining. There's Demon Lords the evolved like Rimiru (lets call them True Demon Lords) and the Demon Lord the title for being on the Demon Lord Council. We know Claymen isn't a True Demon Lord and I think you can guess where Carrion is based on the fight with Millim (who is a True Demon Lord)

Whats crazier is he is one of the strongest demons fullstop. Spoiler Territory: . . . . . In Tensura universe Demons get stronger by fighting and the demon realm demons are constantly fighting to become stronger. With the levels (lesser, arch, etc.) being used to denote how long they have been fighting and growing. Problem is if you lose a fight you lose magicules and thus strength. Diablo our favourite butler slimp, being a primodial means he's been around since pretty much the start of time and he and Guy used to fight all the time before Guy was summoned. Which means Diablo not only fought the actual strongest demon multiple times, but they never suffered a real loss only draws. Also across thousands of years Diablo existed in a state of constant combat where he never truly lost. Which is also why he was so interested in Rimuru. Because the demon realm is very boring to him theres no fun in there being no challenge. So when there is weird little slime constantly naming everything he meets without thought to the consequences. Someone that interests him a lot to the point he basically camped out Rimuru for when he would next be summoned and not let anyone else snipe him like Beretta did. (this is also why Rimuru who used a lesser demon summon spell summoned a primodial). Though tbf Diablo's demon line "black demons" are noted for being the demon realms weirdos. A family line not interested in demon things.

The Anime doesn't make this very clear but despite Rimuru being a Demon Lord there are True Dragons (Like Veldora) who are *much MUCH* more powerful than even the strongest of the Demon Lords. Milim has just a small amount of their power (Being the biological daughter of one) and she's *obscenely* stronger than Rimuru at this moment. Also Diablo is *stupidly* strong, easily on par with Benimaru and Shion if not more so.
