Actually, they really do rehire. However, the real scam in contractualiziation is that the workers remain contractualized in order for the company not obliged to give benefits and are not held responsible if anything happens to them on-site.

It is common practice in retail to only hire casual employees for a limited time to avoid regularisation because if regularised the employer would have to commit to all the full-time employment costs. Sadly this practice occurs in even the bigger retailers despite the efforts of related groups to push for a fairer employment arrangement.

Just an idea, if the food deal works, maybe build a canopy out front and put a couple of tables out there. My wife has a niece that owns a Sari Sari store there in Angeles City. She started selling bbq and does good business. She cooks outside in front and put some tables out there. Works good for her. Take care! Dave H.

I remember a time I was out camping with a lot of Family members and I was eating BBQ chips . I was drinking yes but I didn't know the chips I was eating had already been open for a while. Sitting down drinking my beer eating chips. and then a couple cops came down to where I was camping to see if I had rights to be there( I did) Just then I felt something move in my mouth I spit on the ground and it was not one but 8 flies. I looked in the bag of chips and it was full of Flies. The cops started laughing and some guy that was just nosy . The cop asked how many beers had I drank I said not enough . was my first beer. Not only did I not eat that day all I did was drink beer and hope I forget what happen. That was well over 20 years ago and I can remember it as if it happen today.

Probationary hiring is commonplace even in the U.S., but the Philippine employers use this contract labor (Endo) to skirt all the laws that require paying benefits to employees. They simply do not understand that the cost of turnover and retraining can be even more costly in the long-run than providing health insurance to employees. No Logic!
@gw455 жыл бұрын
I think all of those requirements that you have to go through even to get a minimum paying job are just ridiculous. The authorities should get rid of most, if not all of those requirements and quit screwing the good citizens out of their hard earned money.

Do it yourself Brian... Everything. You are on Vacation forever and you will get what you want... Ohh forget it ... you learned something... NEW? Or you always knew? With Filipina Woman who are married to foreigners... DO NOT HIRE a Contractor.. DO NOT do the work yourself.. let them do it.. WHY? Regardless who did the work.... YOU or the Contractor be blamed...The Project will NEVER BE what they were thinking about and you WILL be held accountable for whatever went wrong.. JUST let them do the job themselves... and then you will be called Lazy and asked for more money to fix it... or they will take the money and do it themselves... while you drink a beer to humiliate their effort when you told them from the BEGINNING you would take care of it.... but the filipina has no regard for your skills... even though you were in the wars, worked on the Farms, did all the electrical re-wiring of TWO HOMES to the Fuse Panel, was a telecommunication and telephone Technician for 27 years... yet she knows everything... SO BE IT.. Let her FAIL... then you are still to blame. I know it all now Brian. I suffered 7 years there... not any more. I suffered worse before. It is hard for me to try to understand Filipinos... I told you I would search for what is need (for the shelves in this situation), I will buy the drill and Wall Anchors and Screws, Cement Drill bit, a Hammer drill and all the necessary parts to do the JOB Right...and all I got was an unrelenting Argument... which drove me to leave the house with MY DOG ... for an 1 1/2 until I came back... AND the same shit happened with Bathroom Tiles Installation and Grout... They never used a sponge in wet water to smooth it out.. yet they expected me to do it their way... without a sponge and the correct way.. their way was better so I sat on my ass, Drank Beer and watched them fail... and now they blame me for not helping them? Sorry.. I tried... Your Filipino Pride is too strong for ,me.. in 6 months you will have to redo it all over again and waste more money... I am sorry.. Bye... Take Care Brian.. you are a Brave man... being there. I thought after 7 years I could endure.. but eventually ... you will begin talking to yourself... WTF??? But you have a Daughter... endure for her and your wife until your eventual insanity... YOUR Philly Bro Man.. Been there.. and done that... I only hope People know We all have talents.. not just money and want to make it together wherever we chose to live.... WE SHOULD never take each other for granted as each of us are gifted. SOME more then others but those with MORE know it and should contribute more perhaps.... As for me You can try... and try.. and be good to others.. but when you realize something is wrong.. just leave it all behind you... WHO needs the yelling and screaming from the paranoid and unknowing who have no Faith in anything? Do not be trapped into a situation that is too deep that should be logical, planned and economical with your Partner.
