Skunks, boogers, a midnight dash to her parents' house and lots of laughter - Sadie and Christian are recounting the hours leading up to their second daughter Haven's birth - and what happened in the days and weeks after. Sadie gets honest about the differences in recovery from her C-section this time around, her postpartum lows, and the unexpected - and hilarious - surprise that really helped alleviate her stress and anxiety just before meeting Haven. Christian and Sadie are SO grateful for the outpouring of love and support they've received for their growing family and share some encouragement for any new or about-to-be parents out there too!

Anyone who is worried about Christian in this podcast has never had a newborn. This couple is clearly happy and in love AND in the throes of sleepless nights that can be draining. And Saidie is no wilting violet. She brushed off some of the comments disagreed on others etc. The way she said it wasn't cowering. If there is a discussion to be had it seems to me like they'll have it. This was such a normal back and forth.

I had an emergency c section with my one and only kid. His head was too big. It was not on my birth plan so I was so scared as I had only heard horror stories about them. Then once they gave me the numbing meds the rest was fine. I was pretty talkative with all the meds. But God was of course watching over me and everything went smoothly even my recovery was great. My Drs were amazed!

Y’all have to remember that you do not know them personally. I won’t disagree that there were multiple instances of “correction” in this episode, but what if Christian is just a literal and forward person who tends to “tell things as they are” and because he’s so close to Sadie, who may be someone who kinda just tells information generally, he feels more comfortable to just add in his perspective? But, I don’t know them personally so this might not be what’s going on either, but I don’t think he was intentionally disrespectful to her. Also, maybe you are someone who doesn’t take literal/forwardness well so you feel personally offended by what he’s saying or doing, but it doesn’t come across like Sadie is offended. Those instances of correction came across like a married couple who have different communication styles and aren’t bashful to bring both styles into the conversation. But again. I don’t know them personally, these were just my thoughts of not trying to dig deep into it. I think some people read too deep into things without actually having a lot of information to back it up because they don’t know the people personally.

I would agree if this was only a matter of words but his whole body language speaks to a bigger problem, you can see her constantly smiling and laughing to tone down his bad attitude, also one thing is correcting and other is trying to bring someone down

@@wendymtzcmy husband, love him with all my heart. But he used to, and still sometimes now, will correct me when I am telling a story of how I seen it. Just as Christian is doing Sadie. It drove me crazy. It also made me feel like people thought I was lying, which made me feel angry.. it was the way I remembered things… Then on top of it, when he would tell a story to his friends, or whoever, there were some exaggerations. The difference was, I did not correct him in front of people… Finally, I had talk to him about it. And how it made me feel… He didn’t realize that he was doing it. Or that he wasn’t meaning to upset me… Sometimes, people just see things from a different perspective. Idk. He apologize to me, once I brought it to his attention… communication is necessary.

It makes me really sad that people really think that the best option is a C-section at that point… The doctors are just trying to have an easier quicker surgery that’s at a certain timeframe so they don’t have to be on call at 3 o’clock in the morning they make a whole lot more money, and now your body is absolutely destroyed. They sliced through everything including your uterus… For anybody that thinks that’s a good idea it’s not. It should be an emergency only situation. And to simply say that they’re doing it so that your birth may be easier on the less than 1% chance that you would have another problem… From somebody who’s seen the medical side of things and who has worked in that area… Please stop letting people lie to you. They are ruining women’s bodies.

i’m happy you’d want to risk your child’s life for that 1%. that 1% CAN happen. and it did to sadie last pregnancy. her child almost died her shoulder almost broken. but i’m happy you’d want to risk your child again. and for the record, lottery winners do exist, so even if it was less then 1%, the risk is still there. 🤷🏻‍♀️

As a 2x csection mama I feel like potential shoulder dystocia is a poor excuse for a planned major surgery. On the Dr's part, not Sadie's. SD is mostly due to wrong birthing position.

I understand that it's not intentional and a result of conditioning to believe that the medical system knows best. It is disturbing how much Sadie brushes off this traumatic experience and does not acknowledge the drugs causing the euphoric feelings that also affect baby. I would have never ever signed up for a C-section after something as minor as shoulder distocia which many homebirth midwives are capable of dealing with at home with no issue AND many mother's birthing unassisted have the intuition to change positions to help the baby out (not usually possible in a hospital setting where they have you on your back - one of the worst positions for birth). The C-section birth is more than scary and should not be taken lightly. It is life threatening and disturbs the connection between mom and baby hormonally which Sadie eluded to. I just hope that people learn more about birth, how to advocate for yourself and make an educated decision on how to birth rather than just trusting the "professionals". The US has one of the worst maternal mortality rates of any developed country. We also have the highest percentage of hospital births.
@abigailguy5077

a shoulder distocia is not minor, in any way shape or form. it's one of the scariest things you could experience in the delivery room, her decision is valid and she was doing what she felt was best.
@angelamaisch1
@angelamaisch1 Жыл бұрын
@@abigailguy5077 I agree it would be scary in a delivery room and she did what she knew was best. I wish women would educate themselves on physiological birth rather than trusting doctors who have learned pathologized birth. There are many women who birth babies with shoulder dystocia at home either with the care of a midwife or unassisted where they are able to maneuver intuitively and reposition to get the baby "unstuck". (None of this involving anyone pulling the baby out in any way shape or form). Mammals have been successfully giving birth outside of hospitals for thousands of years. God designed our bodies to give birth. What happens in a hospital is so far from God's design, it's strange to me that Christians take part in it so regularly. I don't blame the women, I blame th le medical system who has created a "procedure" out of birth and the education system that has taught women how to be a boss babe but hasn't taught them how their own body works.

@@angelamaisch1 while i agree women were made for child birth, there are some cases that would have poor outcomes if modern medicine would not be what it is today. i agree some things are not helpful in delivering at a hospital today, and it is a business, but most doctors have the best interest of their patients and do what's safest and more guaranteed to be safe. a c section is risky, but a shoulder distocia is much more risky if you think about it. i am a nicu nurse and i see both sides, i just want women to support women and their decisions. if they want to deliver a certain way for peace of mind at their doctor's advice, i feel like that's to be supported.

So I had an epidural with my first c section and a spinal with my second c section! I would say neither of them hurt but I think the spinal was better because I felt more tugging and pulling during my c section. You can only get an epidural though if you have a vaginal birth.

Who counts the amount of times you throw up? Such an odd thing.

Some ob/gyn’s will want to know these details. It can help them know whether or not it’s time to prescribe nausea medication.

God loves u all sm God bless any prayer requests or any questions? God sent his only son to die for u so live for Him (not trying to force) Gods got u and is in ur corner always, fighting for u, and the best way for u to fight is on your knees, praying. Start with journaling, prayer, worship, turn off bad music, verses, living like the fruit of the spirit each day. Nobody is perfect except Jesus. Its okay to make mistakes, we all do. Feel free to reach out nd talk for anything. ask God for wisdom in every situation. God loves u and so do i. Have a blessed day friend. Some of my fav verses: Matthew 19:26, John 3:16, Isaiah 30:21. Pick 1 fruit of the spirit today, and practice and live by it in all areas. Invite God into your life, every aspect and area. Trust the story because you know the author. If there is any prayers I can pray for y'all pls lmk!

It’s annoying the way he nit picks every thing she says. He is a sweet guy and I know they love each other, but let her be right about something, without correcting her.
