Those square body crew cab pickups are very rare nowadays, but the square body regular cab pickups on the other hand I still see out on the roads today.

I can tell the year of that pickup is a 1984 because it has a 1983-1984 grille & headlamp bezels & 1984 was the first year the windshield wiper arms & blades were black which I believe it was midyear when the wiper arms & blades were changed to black. What was also new for the 1984 model year was both the windshield wiper & highbeam/lowbeam headlamp switches were moved to the steering column, in the previous years the windshield wiper switch was on the dash & the highbeam/lowbeam headlamp switch was a little button lookin thing that was on the floorboard close to the kick panel.

bahaha yeah. we ended up pulling up some of the floorings in the shop. No more burnouts in the shop.

Does that Dana 70 have a locker in it? ....positraction....what? I mean, on that burnout, both sides are spinning equally. The reason I'm asking is that my 82 big dually also has the Dana 70 but it doesn't have anything for equal traction and I really do not know which way to go. I need something because i'm using my truck to take boats to the lake. I have found out that trucks with dual rear wheels don't do as well on slippery launch ramps as a truck with single rear wheels. You wouldn't think it would be that way but it is. So, I need all the help I can get there.

So the truck does have a factory posi in the rear end. I don't have experience with them on loading ramps, but I can say that when you're looking for traction in mud or rocks you will want both wheels turning so that you can find the traction.

Kicking around that right now. I have some 20s right now that I was going to sick on it and see how they look. I really like the 22.5's thought. We also just picked up three Cummins 12 valves and we are going to probably stick one in it. Going to now need to do research on what this is going to do for weight in the front and how it may change the spring options for the lowering kit.

Awesome video. One quick question whats the average mileage of gas for the 454 in those trucks?

Honestly I don't know. Everyone is telling g me they are sub 10mpg. I have heard reports as low as 3mpg. Granted lots of variables with quality of carb tuning. I would like to do our own test and see what we can get out of it with some conservative driving.

The hard part of being the creator. I can't please everyone but I'm try and balance it out and I'm still learning. I'm currently going to film school and employing things I'm learning in my videos. Just like any other skill set, it will get better and better with time.
