Man, I'm so sorry to hear that!! Unfortunately it's quite a "common" crime in Rome and the surrounding areas. Me and my family are from Rome but now we live in northern Italy, in 2021 my father parked the car just below his mother's house for dinner (a very dense and popular area in the middle of Rome, where he grew up). When he came back 3 hours later the car was gone, without anybody noticing. He went to the police office but they said it's quite common and that unfortunately there is nothing they could do. Nobody ever found the car yet. At least he had the insurance covering a part of it, so he got like 70/80% of the value of the car back (after 10 months). They tear up the car and sell the spare parts to local mechanics, I wish I'm wrong from the bottom of my heart, but I guess you'll never see your car again. 😢

Yeah we heard a similar story from the local police. The chances are low.

Unfortunately, these things have been happening all over the place during the last few years. At this point, I know about dozens of bands who got robbed on tour. I might be wrong, but isn't there an Emil Abrahamsson vid, in which he explains that all his electronics got stolen from his bus? I'm afraid criminals have learned that a a lot people travel in mini-vans these days, and that they happen to bring expensive gear with them.

I hope you and your family are alright, and that the car is going to be found. Good luck!

man that sucks! I hope you can let it go and still can enjoy your nice winter escape with your family! It's always so tempting to go to cities, but it's always so dissapointing to be actually there. grtzz

Dude, bummer. I hope it turns up, mabye because some moron towed it away, maybe when the thiefs notice a converted car is harder to sell. I wish you the best.

Hey Man, so sorry to hear your bad luck. I really hope your trip doesnt end now. Here is some shit advice: keep going where you planned on foot/public transport, open yourself to the kindness of strangers, do random acts of kindness for others and those less fortunate, it will all come good in the end. Big love

We thought about just doing that a lot. The problem is that we wanted to head for Greece with the ferry, and we most likely needed passports for that, which were stolen, and now we even lack proof of identity for little one 1 (we luckily still have our drivers licenses) so the chances of getting stuck down there were quite high. We're already back now, trying to sort our lives out without our Swiss army knife van.

Sorry to hear that man! Man you need to get back to making videos! Your almost at 100K subs. I think if you went hard like you use to, you might make pretty good money. You already have a fan base. Slap some advertising to your vids. Let your fan base support you. Good luck man. Hoping something positive comes out of this for you.

Also Europe is in steep decline. The idea you can just earn what you need is an indulgence. You have to strive for more but Europe stopped. Decades later you get your car stolen. Sorry bro.
@ManitheMonkey9 ай бұрын
It's not exclusive to Europe but yeah I agree to some degree. That's why I wish everybody to simply stay free cause that's actually the hardest thing to do these days and it's definitely not getting easier.
@OhmicContact9 ай бұрын
I do feel like you are learning the hard way why people save up more money than they need, and get regular jobs. If you can make 2 or 3x as much money as you need, keep your family humble so that no increase in expense is made, the you have a great savings and go back to your lovely life just one year later (and more appreciative of it).
@terraflow__bryanburdo45479 ай бұрын
I have had to do just that the last year. Best of luck to Manny and family.
@ManitheMonkey9 ай бұрын
There is something to that. We lived extremely humbly last year (I mean come on we basically lived in a yurt I built myself), so despite our low income we could save up. Yet these savings are likely lost now because we only had minimum insurance (it was a rusty old low power van which ran well cause I cared for it technically), I think hardly anything will be covered, and with all the personal stuff in there like laptop climbing gear and such it's still around 9k€ damage.
