No one should face sight loss alone this Christmas.
I felt vulnerable and depressed. I kept tripping over my dog and stopped making my afternoon cup of tea because I kept spilling it and burning myself. I had lost my sense of purpose and direction and suddenly everyday tasks were also becoming increasingly difficult, but I felt utterly powerless. I didn’t know who to turn to for help.
Mrs Claus was becoming more and more concerned and knew my pride was getting in the way of asking for help.
As we approached the spring, Mrs Claus knew something had to change. She couldn’t face me being so unhappy and knew she had to do something to get me, and Christmas, back on track.
Mrs Claus reached out to Sight Scotland’s Support Line and spoke to Debbie, a community worker.
