You saw such an array of fish down there. Is that a squid at 2:09? How cool! And a sea snake! I must admit, I never knew what a thresher shark looked like. They look so beautiful with huge eyes and tails!
@bugsandbears6 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's a squid, we saw a bunch of them. We only found out about them during our research on what places to visit in the Philippines. It's very special to see them, as they usually spend most of their day at much deeper depths (around 200-300 meters). Their eyes and tails are so beautiful indeed! Doris & Matthias 🐜🐻

I asked them if they knew any English songs and that's what they came up with :-) Said they learned it at school 🦈.

Devan Clarke-Sheward Thanks Devan! We’re glad it also transports your story there and brings up some memories. You also got a nice one of Malapascua.

Cool octopus and was that a sea snake or an eel? Wow I can’t say I remember ever hearing of a Thresher shark I will have to show my son. They are very unique looking. Great clip at the end of the singing as well!

The animal at 02:12 was a sea snake! We also, kind of accidentally, found out about the Thresher Sharks so had to add this place to our bucket list! Really cool guys! If you love sharks, we just saw bull sharks in Mexico (most recent video). Keep it up, guys! Cheers, Doris & Matthias

Awesome video! Am I allowed to say I like the squid more? They are so cool! I love the way they change color. It's awesome that they are protecting the species.

Love the beach at 3.54 minute! what is the best season to go there?
@bugsandbears6 жыл бұрын
Really depends on what you want to see there. The visibility is reduced from November/December and best from June to September. Thresher Sharks can be spotted all year round. Here's a detailed information: divezone.net/diving/malapascua-island Keep the adventure going! Doris & Matthias 🐻

I’d say summer time here in the Philippines... which is March to early June :) but in general, we have a fairly warm weather. July to September is when it’s rainy. But yeah, November is typhoon season, so that’s not always good. But then again, it’s always warm here. And a rainy day won’t ruin a day at the beach ;)

I had never heard of this type of sharks before. The tail is different compared to others. This must been an experience you'll never forget

I didn't know you could find these in the Pilippines! We swam with black tip sharks in Tahiti and lemon sharks in Turks and Caicos so we will have to add this to our "shark" list lol
@bugsandbears6 жыл бұрын
Wow! You guys saw a lot of sharks. Lemon Sharks look so bad-ass, we also love them! Definitely add the thresher sharks to your bucket list! And you might also be interested in Bull Sharks, they're so impressive and we just got very close to them while diving in Mexico (our most recent video). Cheers, Doris & Matthias 🦈

That opening was fantastic! (How did you do it?) I would love to go do this. My dream is to see a whale shark in the wild. Appreciated what Freddy had to save about protecting the environment

Whale sharks are indeed very impressive animals! We're really hoping you get to see one once! Good places are Donsol (Philippines), Tofo (Mozambique), Isla Mujeres (Mexico), Ningaloo Reef (Australia), Maldives. Let us know if you have any questions!

Thanks for the tip; I'll let you know if I have any questions once I know I will possibly have an opportunity in the nearer future :)
