Lucie! Thank you for your candor about your conception journey! I am not trying to get pregnant myself, as I just had the Nexoplanon BC implanted in my arm, but I love your thorough research & commitment to your body, as well as your comfort to share your journey with the Fink Fam! I’ve never heard anyone else talk about their cervical mucus & I love your scientific approach! Rock on, mama!

Delaney monitor your mood and symptoms monthly keep track of yourself. That implant made me and my friends very sick but not everyone is sensitive to it. I hope it works well for you but i just wanted to warn you just in case. My doctor waived off my feelings (he doesn’t have a uterus) and i felt so much better after i got it taken out. When i switched doctors my female doctor told me she wouldn’t have suggested that bc. So just be aware of your own body and how you feel ❤️

It’s cool how everyone’s conception journey is so different I got off of nexplanon December 2020 and found out I was expecting January 2021 just trying naturally. Currently 34 weeks pregnant with my second and last daughter I know I’m super blessed by getting pregnant right away with both of my babies and that’s not everyone’s story I try not to take that for granted but I do feel lucky

Thank you so much for educating us as well as normalizing that it’s okay to have to go through this with your partner. I feel as if a lot of people are embarrassed nowadays to share and express how hard or how easy it can be to get pregnant. Congrats and I wish you a healthy/safe/beautiful pregnancy.

This is important information to know. Way to go Lucie! I am 50 now but I wish I had known this when I was ready. It took me three years to get pregnant and had no clue about any of this until I had my children and was way older.

When my boyfriend and I decided we wanted to have a baby, I stopped taking birth control for a month first to see if my period would come back normally. That first cycle was 27 days, so I also thought everything was fine and back to normal straight away. But then my cycles became longer and longer each time, I think the longest one was 48 days. At first I wasn't planning on tracking my ovulation, but when my cycles became so irregular I really wanted to, otherwise I had no clue on when I was ovulating. I was pregnant after 9 months of trying. Unfortunately there was no heartbeat at our 8 week scan that time, but we were very lucky to be pregnant again quite soon after. The positive thing about it taking so long for me to become pregnant is that I really began to know my body and my cycle better. Both times that I got pregnant, we only DTD once because our predictions were so accurate at that point ;) There was no need to try multiple times a day for days on end. For me personally, I will not go back on birth control, or at least not as long as I want more children. I really feel like birth control messed with my body, and I feel much more at ease since it is out of my system. Although currently 27 weeks pregnant :). Really nice to hear your experience, as it has a lot of similarities to mine. This is also my first baby, at 29 years old. All the best for the rest of your pregnancy!

It's so great to see information like this for women even if they aren't ready to conceive. I wish I had done more research and tests even before we were ready because after going off the pill my period never came back. It's now more than a year later and we are on a fertility journey we never thought we would be on. Knowledge and being proactive with your health is a powerful thing ❤️

Love how thorough and how well you explained your journey. The only thing I will say is I think you mean fertile window when you talk about "ovulation window". Your fertile window is 6 days long ending on the day of ovulation and you will ovulate typically 24-36 hours after your "peak" or LH surge. While on this 6 day window the 5 days before ovulation you can still get pregnant, your highest chance of conceiving is on ovulation day. Congratulations on pregnancy and your continued journey!

Interesting to watch, especially as a woman who got pregnant at LOT sooner than initially planned 😆. I foolishly believed that it would take my husband and I at least 6 months to a year to convince as we were both in our mid 30s and I had been on hormonal birth control for 14 years. I went off the pill in March and stopped all forms of bc in late April/May. I got pregnant in June without us actively trying. Big Suprise!!! A happy surprise and we're becoming more excited as time goes on 😊 So don't make my mistake, do your research like Lucie and be prepared to fall pregnant straight away as you never know what could happen......

I love how you speak so openly about your body and it’s natural processes. It’s so great to hear someone do that!!! This is also a really interesting example of why the Texas 6 week abortion law is ridiculous. You technically got pregnant in February but didn’t realize until April because of your specific cycle. Classic textbook example of how if this had been an unwanted pregnancy it would have been beyond the 6 week window.

The SAME THING happened to me!! I got off the pill thinking we have a year before we actually want to start trying - but as soon as I got off it, we were like "yepp we're ready". I think because our hormones were asleep for so long - been on the pill 10 years - that when they wake up they are like "give me my baby!!" 😄

I tried for almost 3 yrs to get pregnant with my first. Through lots of testing, I learned that I ovulated on days 3-5 of my cycle. We were always "trying" during mid-cycle thinking that's the typical ovulation. It's really good to know your body and learn when you ovulate. Once I learned this I got pregnant within a couple of months. That was 27 yrs ago now. lol

It sounds like a lot of the things that you talked about in your “Going off the pill after 11 years” video ended up getting resolved/not being related to the pill (migraines were related to Celiac disease, the “lack of a period” was more of a 40 day cycle (absolutely correct me if I’m wrong but I believe that’s still within the range of normal), and you got pregnant pretty much as soon as you were trying to, so bc didn’t hinder your fertility). How do you feel about that video/information now?

Hi Lucie, I'm curious to learn more about using both the ovulation sticks & BBT. Do you think they complemented each other or provided extra security in knowing exactly what day range you'd potentially ovulate? Did they ever not correspond? Sounds like you are very data-driven (I am too!), but I hadn't considered using both until recently.
@luciebfink
@luciebfink 3 жыл бұрын
YES they always worked in conjunction! when it comes to BBT, I've found it generally doesn't rise until AFTER the ovulation has occurred, and the LH level spikes a bit BEFORE ovulation. So often you'd get a positive OPK stick but then you won't get the temperature spike until a couple of days later. But assuming you're measuring correctly & ovulating, they should line up like this!!

This is the best video I’ve ever seen about the topic ❤️I can relate so much on your experience! I’ve taken the pill for 3-4 years and started my journey on june 2021. I also went to a gynecologist to leave the pill and I’m currently working with a nutritionist to get my cycle back (I have also left the gluten out of my diet and more). Doing blood test, the first cycle was like a clock but now I’m on the second one and on day 50 without my cycle (similar to you). I’m going to start with my progesterone supplement next week as the doctor told me to get try my cycle back and I’m also taking magnesium amd other nutritional supplements. I’m not trying to get pregnant at the moment, but I want to in 2 years, so I started this journey to make my body work natural again with my partner support. It is also a very difficult journey mentally and I hope for the best for all of you struggling with it. Greetings for Barcelona 💕

I have been tracking for over 4-5 years now (using the method as birth control as well as when TTC) so I know the facts here, however now that Im getting older and my friends are trying to get pregnant too I'm surprised they do not have a clue about such things, it is really something we should be focusing on (or at least mentioning) at school as it is so important to know our bodies as they can show us if something is not right..also Im glad you focused on the fact that not everybody is ovulating on day 14-15 as many women think (and they end up not trying at the right time). Thank you Lucy for being so awesome at explaining everything clearly! and also congrats on you baby!!!! :)

She mentions a lot of supplements, but the one every woman getting off birth control should definitely take, is folic acid! It's important in the very first weeks of pregnancy, when you often don't know yet that you're pregnant, so it's best to start taking it once you start trying to conceive.

Mine was a small transverse sinus. Basically, the vein was so small it looked non-existent!

Hi, I've never heard of the genetics testing - would you have chosen not to have kids if you were a match? or what action does one take after finding out the info?

We personally would have done IVF to ensure that the genetic disorder wasn't passed on (you can often pick out embryos that don't carry it!).

This is giving me fertility nerd energy and I like it. You came prepared and you delivered. Can't wait for baby Poppy! ps: Watching this while frantically researching online for the best IUD option, because I want to come off the pill (after 11 years) but I firmly want to be childfree, and I cannot rely solely on condoms or my anxiety would kill me. Hihi Anyone in the comments has advice? I'm leaning towards copper IUD.

Well I was going to watch your video but all those popping sounds were absolutely annoying coming through my speakers. Why everytime you put something on the screen did it has to be accompanied by a sound? I mean your talking and we are watching...no animated sound needed.

I have a question. Why do women want to get pregnant? Pregnancy puts a lot of strain on a woman's body, and it has risks, and a pregnancy lasts 9 months. Also, childbirth is very painful. And also, raising children is very hard. Personally, I think being childfree would be a lot better than having children, but that's just my opinion.

So amazing! God bless you! To everyone: Jesus loves you so so much and He died so we can be forgiven and go to Heaven with God if we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior! Have a great day! God bless everyone!

I know you are pro-vax. Some people do get reactions that they don't realize are related to getting vaccinated. I would question if either of the vaccines you received triggered some of the health issues you experienced. I've seen this happen and had to say something...

She clearly explained that she has celiac disease. Also, going of the pill often leads to migraines and other adjustment symptoms. Also, I belive the symptoms started prior to the vaccine. Don't try to push for your unfounded and, honestly, dangerous anti scientic views.

@@lavacaqueri5454 Oh wow. You clearly have never researched vaccine injury. I suggest you do a little reading before you come out like you know what you're talking about. ***SOME*** people have their immune systems go into overdrive after being vaccinated and trigger negative immune response.

I love how much detail and planning went into your pregnancy journey 🤍 Btw, have you ever heard about the Billings method Family Planning?, cause it’s very similar to what you did. And according to it the closest you have sex to your ovulation date the more likely you are to conceive a boy (and viceversa), and seeing your dates seems it worked 💙✨

Apparently this is because x chromosome sperm cells are more resistant. It's also why older men are more likely to have baby daughters.
