Pro tip. Dont ever let your kids use make up from the jump. It will genuinely destroy your skin even from the first use.

Even though the comment at 10:01 was meant as a joke. It's actually a good idea. Especially since most make-up is filled with many things that are not natural, such as all of those chemicals. If you aren't able to make your own, there are a couple of companies such as Nume-Lab in Switzerland and the ModestPath in the UK, that both sell Halal skin care. Maybe you could try out their products and if you like them, you could see if they would sponsor you. Plus since you provide wholesome, fun and educational content they might like the idea too. Just a thought.

Thank you so much for answering my question-it really feels like I’m having a conversation with you both! I’ve been reflecting on this a lot lately. While I appreciate makeup as a form of self-expression and art, I decided to stop wearing it outside when I realized that, deep down, I felt more confident with it on than without it. That began to affect my self-worth, and I noticed how some people seemed to treat me differently, almost as if they were ranking me based on my appearance. This woke up the part of me that kept sweeping the fact that it's haram under the rug, but ultimately, my decision came from wanting to become a stronger Muslim and, as you said, to feel free. Skincare is honestly great advice😆, I bought a lash serum to stop myself from using mascara. also super excited about this series 🔥 "and the halal skincare pack"

Alhamdulillah that makes us happy to hear sis 🩷 I am glad we could have a conversation about this 😌🤲 And I hope you feel more free now, if not, soon in Shaa Allah! And if anything we save a lot of time by skipping make up = more sleep? 🤭 and a lash serum sounds great! I should find a good one too. Share with me if you end up liking the one you got hehe

At the moment, I have conditioned myself to not wear makeup. It's an upkeep in all honesty. For convenience sake, I forgo makeup because I am mindful that there is a need to take wudhu for me after only a short wear time. It's not worth it for me. I have also embraced my bare face, accepted it and learned to love it too as it is. I'm not saying I won't ever wear makeup at all after. It's the path to love and appreciate oneself as Allah has gifted us as we have been created to be.

That's a great point about Wudu'! When we structure our days around salah, the other decisions you make becomes much clearer and Alhamdulilah for that. May Allah ease your task and your journey, and may he guide us all. Thank you for sharing your experience, we appreciate it!

Thank you for showing up in my feed at the right time. I have Ben wearing hijab for over 2 years. And I have worn little to no makeup in that time, I had already gotten to wearing very little - some powder and a little eye color to yes - enhance my eyes. But I am missing half my eye brows and I still feel so self conscious about that as to me it is so obvious. So this discussion was a good reminder of things I tell myself. I am exploring kohl for my eye health as welll as the nice emphasis on the eys and brush it up on my lashes which was very blonde. But beyond that and noticing lip stained with certain fruits etc - I have worn only natural good skin care and some lightly tinted moisturizer/sunscreen - I am very prone to burning unfortunately! Thanks Again!
@halalsnackpack2 ай бұрын
JazakAllahu kheyran for watching sis, and for sharing 🤲🩷 if you're missing parts of your eyebrows you could probably ask an imam about using a bit of make up in some situations to make them look "normal", if it is very noticeable. There could be some fatwas about the permissibility of using different means to make aspects of our face look like "before/normal" after injuries and so on. Worth a try!

Alhamdulillah thank you my sis! I am very acne prone and got dry skin, so my skin is far from perfect. But the studio lights helps a lot 😂 A good moisturizer and cleanser that doesn't dry out the skin is a good simple start I believe. As well as using SPF :) Dark circles..is tricky cause it could be genetics, like mine and my thin/translucent undereye skin. Maybe a tinted moisturizer? About the rashes, have you talked to a doctor or dermatologist about it? Could it be set off my allergies?

There's the no makeup trend, the bare faced trend, the au naturel, all kinds of trends, and these are the better ones. We will be gasping for breath to catch up with trends, if that's what we want to do. So forget it, there's more to life than trends. I can't go bare faced because of the not perfect skin and the weather where I come from. So, find a good water based, tinted, sunscreen and use lightly coloured lip gloss and a little kohl for the eyes if need be and you are good to go. Presentable! You know what gives you the glow though? The wudhu that you perform throughout the day. That makes and keeps you attractive and pleasant looking and glowing throughout the day. There's no pleasing everyone, so just please the Creator who will please you in turn. May Allah forgive us all. Amin!
@halalsnackpack2 ай бұрын
Those are great points! You will never catch up to the trends because there will ALWAYS be something new. If people base their worth and satisfaction on things like this, they will never be truly satisfied. Good point and suggestion on how to look presentable. It almost becomes an obsession for some to be dolled up everywhere they go even if they're out for 5 minutes. Wudu and Noor from Salah beats everything. Ameen Ya'raab. Thank you for sharing. ❤️

I have a hard time telling the difference between makeup and skincare sometimes! What about tinted moisturizer for example, would that be allowed? And I have some skincare (oils and such) that gives me more glow than some of the (natural) makeup I use😅 Also, I just to be in the sun as much as I could to get a natural tan which I love on my face, but since knowing its bad for your skin I avoid that and mimic that exact same bronzing with a bronzing cream, to have the benefits of having a bit more color in my face without the damage of the sun! Would that be permissible or is it better to tan in the sun (and damage my skin)?🥲
@halalsnackpackАй бұрын
Assalamu alaikum sis! I can't say what is permissible or not, so you should ask an imam this, but overall the message is to look at your intentions and that our goal should be to become content with how Allah swt made us 🤲 And protect your skin from the sun! You can still tan with sunscreen, it just takes a bit more work 🥲 - J

My skin gets so dry from wudu and then it gets oilier simultaneously. Any tips on how to combat this would be greatly appreciated. I moisturize afterwards but it's difficult to be able to wear a non-chemical sunscreen (which I require due to a medicine I use for acne) and then remove it for wudu and reapply all the time. I'm struggling to find a skincare routine which doesn't strip the skin too much and cause it to be dry and flaky while creating too much oil to overcompensate for the stripping :(
@halalsnackpack2 ай бұрын
That's tricky! Hydrating the skin could be key, to avoid the oiliness. Have you tried oils before you put cream on?
@TheYazmanian2 ай бұрын
Salam! Thanks for responding! No I'm scared the oil will break me out. So I just quickly put on moisturizer afterwards. 😅 I'm hoping my skin adjusts to the new routine soon, Insha'Allah. I've heard some people who break out swear by jojoba oil. Maybe just need to use less of the acne medicine because it's quite irritating. 🤔

Oh yeah, I had to use some strong ish acne cream some years ago and it completely wrecked my skin. It was like leather 🥲 I've also heard jojoba oil works. Maybe you should give it a go? But now all the rave is beef tallow apparently 😂🤔

I tried many things for years and honestly the best advice in my opinion is go to a dermatologist and ask them for help, It's the most efficient way, also cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen are basically what u need, they will give u advice on what to try. If u currently can't visit a derma. Just look for products of companies u find ethical and find the ingredients u need ( ask AI for help on that ) Other than that you're right It's an industry that creates insecurities and claims fixing them It's terrible🤷♀️💀

@yuckk.k2 ай бұрын
cover it up but doesn't mean you need to use layers of make up or eyelashes. They're obvs talking about make up to the point of attracting attention. If your intention is to cover up one spot or birthmark is totally different to girls nowadays following trends. Do you girl! x

Maybe ask a scholar for their educated islamic opinion. Julianna and Ezi aren't trying to be inconsiderate, it's just islam. Regardless of the time, trend, or whether or not we think we're beautiful or ugly, we have to obey the islamic rule of not adorning ourselves and observing proper hijab in front of non-mahrams. However, I FULLY empathise with how difficult it is, especially if everyone around you is wearing makeup and looks "perfect". It's hard, for sure. But we are living to please Allah, right, sis? We will be so, so happy on the day of judgement when we have less sins to answer for, and more rewards, inshallah. May Allah make it easy for all of us to stop make up and fight our own desires for His sake alone.
