I'm surprised by your comment about a lack of a swimmable beach in Manzanillo - clearly you didn't find the famous Playa La Boquita - right at the north end of the main beach in Santiago Bay, and rated as one of the best swimming beaches on the west coast of North America. Flat, smooth (you can ride a bicycle on the sand), sandy bottom, with flat-calm, warm, crystal clear waters. Check it out on your next trip to Manzanillo!

We definitely missed it, the two beaches we went to had super rough surf. We will check out La Boquita next time. Thanks!

We absolutely love Manzanillo and its wonderful people! We have been going there for the last 3 years & we are booked again for next year. We stay in Ponto Horizonte ( the 2 towers right on the ocean) it is amazing!! The Views are incredible!! We go to HOA every Tuesday & meet up with other Canadians for a great time, enjoying the sunsets, whale watching & of course some drinks, music, dancing & food! The staff is great, especially Willy & Ricardo!! Manzanillo has beautiful weather, great food and is so easy to get around. LOVE IT!!! Just returned home and am already missing Manzanillo!!!

Hola Georgia and David. You did a good job of showcasing a town that I never thought was very interesting. I first visited Manzanillo in 1967, and several times after that. It was always sort of sleepy and run down, without any of the really good colonial buildings of the inland cities. It looks like they have spruced things up a lot, and it is now a major shipping port. In 1967 there were some small hotels around the harbor and in town, but the big resort hotels were yet to arrive. The bay north of town was mostly undeveloped beach. Las Hadas, at the north end of the bay, was a little motel with an Arabic vibe. Two years later it was huge and the site where the movie "10' was filmed, staring Bo Derik, Dudley Moore and Julie Andrews. At 50 years of age it may still be a good resort but newer resorts have probably surpassed it. You mentioned that the beaches weren't good for swimming. Few of the beaches in the area are. Just about all have a shore break, where a few feet from shore the sand drops off into deep water. I'm not sure why that is. Between 1967 and 1974 I was an associate at the San Diego Museum of Natural History and came to the area to collect specimens for a scientific collection. Otherwise I wouldn't have stayed long. The areas south of Manzanillo, and further north towards Barra de Navidad, are of more interest. At least they were once upon a time. Manzanillo is OK but I find many other areas of Mexico to be more interesting, such as the state of Morelos, where you are now. Enjoy.

Manzanillo definitely isn't our favorite place but it had some redeeming qualities. Las Hadas is still quite popular nothing was very new and shiny in Manzanillo it kind of reminded us of Acapulco in that regard. We definitely prefer the cobblestone streets of central Mexico a bit more.

When you were in El Centro you missed The Fisherman Snoopy Statue, a gift from Manzanillo's Sister City of St. Paul, Minnesota. He's next to the Government Palace. We love our Manzanillo. Happy you did as well. Thank you for a lovely video.

We will have to grab a photo with Snoopy next time, thanks!

@GeorgiaandDavid Did you guys enjoy my small town? Currently I live in Los Angeles CA and missed my city and state and country. I hope that you enjoy my Country. ❤️

We enjoyed it. We visited two churches, appreciated the sculptures in the zócalo, went to the library to see the murals and finally visited the casa de piedra. We absolutely love visiting all of the pueblos mágicos.
