Enjoy your stay in Metro Manila guys. I'm from Makati but living and working here in Italy for 31years now. Before coming here in Italy , BGC was a military camp , of Fort Bonifacio, HQ of Philippine Army. I was called in the active duty as a reservist in the early 90's. Our barracks' location then is now called BGC

The people are less busy and friendlier too. Welcome to the Philippines and hope you enjoy your stay! Thank yo u for coming to our humble and modest country!

some foreigners say to skip manila because they prefer the pristine beaches and quiet islands such as boracay or palawan. it's all a matter of taste. but if you prefer somewhere cosmopolitan then makati or bgc of manila is the place. or perhaps they saw downtown crowded manila and they don't like it. Still, there are those who are adventurous and walked those crowded streets.

Filipino billionaires live in mansions in gated villages, not in tiny condos. That area is mostly occupied by foreigners and young entrepreneurs who want a place of their own in a posh environment. Also, most of the properties are on a rental basis.

BGC is a posh community in the Philippines, each city in the Philippines are different like makati is considered posh, too like Ayala and the most expensive villages where billionaires live like Forbes Park, Dasmariñas Village then BGC which is partly Taguig and Makati (but Taguig won in the Supreme Court battle of which city BGC belongs) is a real beauty aesthetically. If you go to Ortigas area is different, Mandaluyong, Manila and Quezon City but BGC is indeed a different community. I live in BGC and I'm not a billionaire 🤣 I wish I am but waking up in here is like living in convenience as everything is around you. I never used my car to go to the bank, malls, supermarkets, restaurants etc as all can be done by walking, jogging and everytime I see my friends I see them with my usual casual slippers and my house wears and they are all excited to visit as literally everything is here. You will feel like you are in a sim game world 🤣

I'm Filipino American from NYC and BGC doesn't remind me of NYC at all. It's nowhere near as dense and the buildings are more medium rise buildings rather than skyscrapers. It's more similar to downtown Miami, especially with the greenery. Hong Kong reminds me the most of New York and Tokyo is even bigger than New York.

if you did some extensive research regarding vegan shops, cafe's, pop up stands and restaurants there are way better options than shake shack in BGC area, Makati and other cities within the metro. The problem when getting infos on the web about Philippines its not up to date its missing a lot of information specially the ones that are not directly in the Phils., Wikipedia is one example of that. Filipino millionaires dont actually live in BGC well most of them but they own some buildings, business establishments properties, companies etc. in BGC but dont literally live there most of them are in different cities like Alabang, Makati, Quezon, Mandaluyong, Pasay and some even in the provinces on the outskirts of the main cities where they have private luxury resorts, private farmlands away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
