For my all around XC/Trail riding I use the Nobby nic/Wicked Will combo. Both in supertrail casing. Recently switched to Assegai exo+ max terra / DHR2 DD max grip for more endura style riding. Grip for days but so much rolling resistance. Switched the DHR for the Wicked Will and so far I love the combo. Even so much that I'm thinking to leave that combo on for my trip to Saalbach.

I ran Assegai/DHR2 or Assegai/Dissector for ages, but switched to the Krpytotal in DH casing and absolutely love em. Bike is a RM Altitude and the DH casings don't feel overkill. The front grips about the same as a MaxGrip Assegai (Super Soft compound) but is more predictable and has better feedback, also rolls slightly faster. The Krpytotal rear is the best rear tire I've ever run, rolls a little faster than a DHR2, has more grip, and is WAY more predictable. Kryptotal in Enduro super soft will be the the holy grail front tire for trail and lighter enduro bikes.

I rode a 2-mile buff climb, and the times came out almost exactly the same between the two combos. If you don't have to slow down and then accelerate, I actually have a PR time to climb on an Assegai front and Dissector rear on a climb of about 1500 feet, which really surprised me!

Having ridden MTB for 30 years now, it's the most surprising tire I've ever ridden. I used to look at it and just not get why it was so popular but I finally bought a pair and was shocked at how well they worked. The newer 2.4 MaxxSpeed is definitely the way to go but unfortunately my frame can't fit a 2.4 out back so I had to go with a 2.25 for the rear. Still very good though. Regardless, they are ultra fast and have a surprising level of grip. So glad I finally tried them.

My favorite XC/DC/TR combo is Barzo up front, Mezcal in the rear. Very fast combo, plenty of grip. I run the XC-Trail version in 2.35 F/R. They're both sub 750g. So comparing the two, you're basically dropping a pound off you bike from the Forkaster/Rekon combo.

Ebikes don't need different components due to "weight". A heavier rider is far harder on the bike than a few kg from a battery and motor for crying out loud. Seriously, Since when does 5-6kg mean a completely new line of parts? Logic people...logic. you can have two riders side by side, and one is 40kg heavier than the other rider on the same fork and no-one says anything if there isn't a battery, but add 6kg a battery and suddenly everyone reckons they need "ebike" components due to the weight lol. You are all the marketing departments best friends. I vary more than the weight of an ebike vs trail bike every few months due to weight cutting for fights, do I need to buy new components every time i put on 10kg after training camp?
