Our herd is rotationally grazed on our 10 1/2 acre homestead in Arizona. We make cheese and soap from the milk we get and we also raise chickens for eggs and meat and keep a large garden year round!

I have to say that I am so impressed by the work ethic of Crystal and Derek and the entire family. You guys are the American dream. As with every dream, you show that it can only be achieved with hard work. I never realized until this video that Crystal, in addition to the incredibly time-consuming, stressful, demanding and complex job of running the dairy and managing the goats (including giving them a whole lot of love) was holding down a job. The bucks they make a special sounds . The noice they all make in the morning , all the baby’s too cute. I love to milk the cows with my dad when I was a child, every morning at 5 am . Now we we have a robot that is milking our cows but by hand is the best .

Hi, I live in Macau which is entirely built up and urbanized. You could search till your chopsticks were twisted and you’d never find a farm animal here. I was born in southern Australia at a town called Ferntree Gully where it’s lush and green but large parts of Australia seem to be a lot like Arizona. A childhood ambition of mine was to keep goats and ducks. Nothing much has gone to plan in my life however and here I am, an abstract painter and teacher on the SE coast of China. I watch each and every one of your videos and kind of imagine myself as you guys. Your close and quite tender connection to your goats dogs and pigs and even your chooks, is really admirable and often touching. Your kids are so lucky to be growing up with this experience. All the best to you and I wish you even greater success and happiness in your venture.

My goat has a first name it's security. My goat has a second name it's groceries. After I buy toilet paper first. Krystal says just feed em already the babies need their milk! Say Lil Bits buckling at weed em and reap. Asked if they were going to keep it's dams letter name and no answer yet. What a great video of the morning routines with Derek. Derek, you made this so enjoyable with your sarcasm. It was very satisfying watching everyone getting fed. Christal, Having a second job is so draining, but call center work is so difficult. I did seven years I loved the company but not the job. I lost my job, a year ago, because my car was not dependable. I was old enough to start taking Social Security which helped the transition. It is great having all your time to do what you love, I really hope that financial independence comes sooner than you think it will.
