There are only two pieces of evidence needed to convict Trump. First was his tweet inviting his stupid mob to Washington DC on January 6, and second was his televised speech telling his stupid mob to march on the Capitol building to "fight like Hell" to "stop the steal." Without those two things, there wouldn't have been an attack on Congress. If all of law enforcement and the general public can overlook such obvious evidence of a crime against our country, then there is no hope. This country has shot teenagers over a bag of weed, but we have to keep our fingers crossed hoping for change that will never come.

The worrying part of this is that it seems like the highest stakes for the committee is to make the public aware of these events. But the people who support the former president will always continue to support him. The real stakes are this: If you have evidence to prosecute, then DO IT. You don't need public support to indict people for treason, you just need to do it. If ratings are too low, or if there isn't a wide enough outcry because the public is already numb, then what? We want consequences, plain and simple. I'm someone who read the Mueller report, sat through the entirety of his testimony, watched _both_ impeachment hearings - all for it to ultimately mean _nothing_ because there were no consequences for anyone responsible. It feels like I have to sit back and watch the country I was born to crumble in front of me. I do my part and vote responsibly, I make myself aware and informed of the issues affecting me locally and nationally, I participate in our democracy, but I get nothing for it. My rights as a woman are eroding, I fear for the safety of my daughter every day I send her to school, I worry for the transgender people in my life, and I stress over when and how much my rent will go up (because at this point it seems inevitable). So if you want me to spend my emotional and mental well-being on watching hearings explaining a story I already know too well _then make it mean something._
