Great to see you two again. Becca, having spun around the sun 70 times one thing that I have learned is "if it ain't broke don't fix it!!". If by chance you have not replaced that old valve consider buying a new one and store it somewhere safe, maybe tie it onto the old valve with a piece of string. If the old one does begin to leak then replace it but not until. Hopefully the weather holds for you guys. watching you remove the cover with caution trying to avoid the spiders brought back so many memories for me when i had my boat i used to send the wife in first to try and do a short wrecky for the spiders they didnt bother her but scared me shitless thats why the boat had to go in the end

we are hoping to have the water heat from the engine when were cruising so having the tank there supposedly optimises its use

Leave that rising stem valve(stop cocky valve) alone. it's not leaking and it may never leak. Ball valve(leavery one) can leak also.

@@TheNomadicCrobot Yea, don't waste money listening to armchair boatwrights regurgitating they read from some other armchair expert. Talk to tradesmen. Those valves have been used in various industries for long before you were born. it looks like a rising gate valve. there is a seal on the shaft that can be tightened if leaking around the gland. I've used them for steam, fuel, water, oil, even air. Now, if you were doing a complete strip and rebuild I'd go with new, but not plastic valves(they get brittle and don't handle frost very well. Anyway, good luck with your boat and channel

Don't know why you don't get rid of all that ballast, any company that makes or sells them will give you more broken concrete tiles and you can always find that stuff free to take away. Just generally getting rid of all the not needed stuff would make life easier.

Without saying exactly what it was it was about the month that’s just been celebrated. Our own daughter is l***ian (have to put that or YT will send me to the gallows if I say the word.) So I’m obviously not against anyone as she’s my best mate, no matter what their lifestyle. Until it starts affecting kids and then I have a problem and so does my daughter and many other L G B …. I was only discussing it with other people who were saying it too but I was struck off and suspended. I also commented on Dr*g story hour, where men dressed up read to kids! I just think they’re adult entertainers and what the heck have they got to do with story hour for little babies? I don’t get it. Hope you can get what it was from this cryptic comment lol. I don’t care who does what as long as kids are not hurt. Each to their own and I don’t judge anyone but I just love kids and if there’s a chance something could harm them I can’t keep shtum.
