The cast member saying 'Really Tim' when his magic band wasn't working killed me. It's nice to see that cast members know who they are and feel comfortable joking around with them!

I rode it finally at 5 or 6 and found it so cool. I had watched old reels and knew it was “pretend”, hooked on the ballroom scene since. Sill a favorite ride! That was 1974 or 1975. Like our third family rode trip down to Florida. Now live here, my family has been cast, and we are AP’s. A Disney life for me!

When my youngest was 2 1/2, we gave him a mini Coleman Lantern keychain for the Haunted Mansion and told him if the ride got too dark, he could turn it on. It worked great and he carried it on a belt loop until he was six for any ride he was unsure on. We had friends use the tip through the years and its always worked well!

Me and my partner got married and are currently honeymooning in Disney world. My wife is the biggest fan of the tracker family and I mean the BIGGEST fan. Tim's channel is literally all she watches. We have been in the same park as them 4 times and have genuinely been metres away from them at some points without even realising, only finding out when we watch their video. Tim if you're reading this, I hope that before we leave Orlando, me and my wife manage to meet you, just to say thank you for all the videos and everything you have helped us go through. It would mean the absolute world to both of us.

So here’s my hot take on when and why the magic band lights up during the fireworks. They don’t want it lighting up through the whole show because 1) battery life and 2) you’re supposed to be looking at the show and not your wrist. So they select particular moments where the band lighting up and vibrating will accentuate what’s currently happening in the show. I noticed it kept lighting up when the singers were saying “You are the magic” so the band is emphasising that the magic lives in you. It would be interesting to note what else is being sung at the other points where the band lights up. I suspect it will be whenever there are key messages about you being able to make your own wishes come true or you being the hero of your own story etc

Haunted Mansion was both my kids’ first ride at Disney when they were babies. My now 4 year old is OBSESSED with Haunted Mansion now (reads the books, wants me to sing Grim Grinning Ghosts at bedtime, decorations on his wall, etc), but this past trip he got scared of the “stretchy room” because of the thunder sound. He was fine with it for the first three years of his life, but now it’s just scary to him, so we’ll just keep skipping it until he’s happy to go through it again!

The first time I was ever in Disney World I was freaked out by the elevators into the aquarium that is now The Seas with Nemo and Friends in EPCOT. I refused to go in & a cast member spoke to my Dad so he could tell my Mum (who'd stayed behind with me) that we could go in through a side entrance. I'm so glad the cast members got me in because I still remember it so vividly (& fondly) over 20 years later. It's my favorite part of EPCOT to this day, even though my Granny was absolutely horrified they were feeding the manatees romaine lettuce (that fact was met with a "it's $5 a head" cry of Scottish terror that can still be heard to this day)

That round bullseye pool was the original pool at The Contemporary. It was the only one for a long time. It can be seen in the WDW grand opening TV special with Glen Campbell and Julie Andrews in 1971 and the New Mouseketeers at Walt Disney World tv special from 1977. The hotel didn't need a larger pool because at the time you could actually swim in the Seven Seas Lagoon.

ROTFL at CM at MK "Really Tim?". Priceless. Love the look of joy and wonder on Jackson's face riding the carousel He was looking up at the 'turning part/crank" at the top of the horse pole - that's exactly what I used to do riding the carousel at my local amusement park. At least you didn't force Jackson to ride HM. I was waiting on my niece to ride tower of terror and this couple had gotten off the ride with a screaming crying kid and the dad kept apologizing to him that he didn't know the ride dropped like that. The mom seemed irritated with the dad and was telling him "I told you he wasn't ready for it." The dad just walked away. I told the mom yeah, I'm in my 40s and don't ride it...it took 1 time for me to ride it and never again. I think the dad scarred that kid for life. Lolol

Yes I was going to be blown away if jacks9n was going to ride haunted mansion but good job when he said no you guys did not force him and respected his choice. Jenn I think you and I have the same nail polish looks great. Tim actually that circle pool out on the water use to be used alot with younger kids and their folks, then the swim beach was right beside it. The sand was super white back then too. The main pool was a good size rectangle pool that went to 6 or 8 ft, and it was in the same place as the main pool was. I remember so many more boats taxiing people all over you could catch a boat ride to the MK from the end of that long dock. I am sad that discovery island is no longer I always loved that and river country on and those little speed boats. When I was a kid those were so popular I zip by the poly, by mk then river country and a few laps around the island. They were everywhere!!!! Good times!,

A lot of little kids have trouble with darker rides while they have a love of rides with lots of light. Most kids have an innate fear of the dark. It’s just there. It will take a while for fear to burn out. The best way to fight it is a number of night lights in the house with a few character ones in their room that or projector ones that show a fun scene. You play with them playing down their fears little by little. You get rid of the “boogeymen” one by one. Or you have fun with animals that like the dark. I myself have night lights around the house not like I have a fear just I have very poor vision at night so they help me move around easier at night. They are all motion and light sensitive models that activate when motion is detected or it’s dark for a set time limit before they go off.

I was 4 on my first trip to Disney and before we went on Haunted Mansion, my dad explained to me that all the monsters on the ride are just gonna be dolls. And in my little preschooler head I thought "dolls are for babies, so this ride must be for babies". Because of that, I didn't get scared at all and it actually became my favorite ride in the park, which it still is today.
