I had 4 stumps to do in our drive way and had crazy quotes. Had to get a digger anyway for when I resurfaced it. If you carefully dig around them, you can use an axe to cut through the main side roots then use the digger to carefully loosen them out (I had a 2.5T one that worked well, wouldn't attempt in a micro). The benefit of pulling the whole thing out is you don't have to worry about what the grinder can't get slowly rotting and creating a sink in your drive way

The middle layer, in the front garden, you want to ensure you leave enough width for a lawn mower. Even if that means a slightly smaller flower bed. As it will be super annoying if you can’t use a lawn mower/flymo to cut the grass. (Speaking from unfortunate experience)

You can drill holes into the tree stump and build a mini fire onto it. I’ve added bbq coals also to help the long burn and it did a good job getting much lower than ground level. It helps to dig a hole on the side of it for air flow also. Good luck on the rest of the build! I’m catching up whilst sunbathing on a beach in Cape Verde on a winter holiday 😂

Editing video is so time consuming, it's a herculean effort that they manage to even get a weekly video out with all the work they have to do on the house as well. I don't think it's realistic for the videos to be longer, unless they were bi-weekly. The current length is just right to see the progress each week.
@fbpz1847Ай бұрын
@ I’m joking….well I’d love them to be longer I know there so busy but I’d love a cheeky 1hr long vid if possible just to sit on sofa with a brew and watch on tv.
@NickyandHarriАй бұрын
We love that people want the episodes to be longer, hopefully it means you’re enjoying the series! As the person above pointed out, we really struggle for time as it is- and making longer episodes would either mean doing more DIY or making less snappy and more slow videos (which isn’t really our vibe for now!). We’ll keep trying to make them a bit longer where we can to give you all a longer watch!! 🥰

£200 to remove a tree stump! Wow! I need to move down South. It cost us £400 to get one pulled up in Sheffield last year. They dug around it put a winch round it and pulled it with a truck. Chipped it up and left in an hour.

Hey Nikki, Harry and all your helpers Nikki I need to correct you. The soup you put it in the slow cook not the air fryer like you said 😅😅 I have just seen a comment about blinds. I have had the wooden ones they look lovely but so hard to keep clean especially because the windows in my house at the time were absolutely s**t those windows ruined my blinds cos windows were letting in water (I wasn't aware of it til I seen mould) the wet also made them weak and they bent all over the place! I swore I wouldn't have them again, they were expensive too 7 windows and back door cost over £600!!!! So going forward now have proper double glazed windows and doors😊😮 I seen some beautiful blinds at my friend's house and was shocked when she said they were made from UPVC and had wood grain effect going through every slat. So............. Yes I got some blinds in fact 7 blinds (not sure yet what to do about the back door. My blinds are white UPVC, and have the wood grain going through them. To say I am vey happy with would be an understatement. I absolutely LOVE them, over the moon with them, they are 😍😍😍😍 I got them off 24/7 blinds, half the price of those wooden ones I had. You can send for samples which is what I did cos there are different shades of white or whatever colour you want, you also get to pick how wide ya want the slats, the amount of grain effect and you just measure the window either inside or outside (depends how ya want them) they are great especially in th kitchen cos ya can damp wipe., or wash them. When they arrive everything is included and basically you just put it the brackets up followed by the blinds and that's it (you also a cover to put across the front which covers the metal and the brackets. So quick, easy and simple to do. They also do Shutters Nikki which I would have loved but I just simply couldn't afford to maybe in a few years 😮😮 Another great video guys your doing fantastic 😍😊😊😍 I look forward to Sunday morning now 😁😁😁😁 Lisa UK xxxx

Hey Lisa, thanks so much for the comment, we love that you really enjoy watching along each week and always enjoy reading your really positive comments! Afternoon Nicky and Harri! (Watching this after doing church duties and pantry stocking) As annoying as it is with the council dragging their feet on the planning permission, the silver lining has been full focus on the front driveway. Full on land management is no joke 😩So you should at least feel chuffed that you've made so much progress on that. When you showed where you wanted to move the stairs, I realised that the vacant "room" could at least be partially converted into a full-on welcome area. With a little bench or ottoman, shoe and coat storage. Maybe with a welcome couch? This would remove the space needed for a snug, but you could make it into a sort of office nook? If you have a full on cupboard or wardrobe for your coats, you could install an interior key storage, just to make the entrance a bit more secure? Just spit-balling ideas for the space really.

It’s unfortunate that some people feel the need to complain, especially when the property in question is relatively secluded and the extension would barely, if at all, be visible to anyone. You are surrounded by people with large, beautiful homes, yet your expectation to have the same is something they feel compelled to challenge. It feels like some folks just can’t help but rain on others’ parades.
