I made that exact same shape but I turned it into my dogs outdoor bathroom that way the grandkids can play in the backyard without any stinky surprises. This summer I’m going to make a pvc summer room

I’ve been looking for something simple like this and finally found it in your video! Thank you for the demo! I have been gardening all my life pretty much and I’ve been using PVC pipe to make summer/winter cover over my plants as I overwinter a lot of peppers etc. So I have been using the PVC clamps and insect/frost covers. It gets extremely hot where I’m at, and we also get freezing temps. I have a few questions for you if you do not mind? How much was your total cost for making this 5 x 5 greenhouse? How do you measure and cut the plastic for the various ends, sides, door and roof of the greenhouse without wasting material? Was it simply a little over 5 foot pieces individually for each wall etc.? Sorry for all the questions, Christine
@DirtyBuffaloProductions3 жыл бұрын
The rolls of plastic from the hardware store aren't that expensive so we just wrapped the plastic around the frame and then used the clamps to hold it in place. We than cut away the excess plastic. The roll that we purchased was twice as much as we needed, so we will get 2 years of use out of that one roll. Yes, 5 ft long pieces cut for each wall. We went with 5 ft to keep the measuring simple.

How did you attach/secure plastic covering?
@AdRawk Жыл бұрын
Would love to know if you did anything special to attach the film at the bottom of the frame. It looks like it is just tucked underneath. Wondering if it stays tight, if you clamped the plastic on there as well?

Here is a video showing the special clips that we used to attach the plastic sheeting to the PVC pipe frame: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5jVoYR8g5KdZ9E There is a link to the site we purchased them from in the video description.

Can you use this for winter? We live in Texas so it doesn’t snow or if it does only once
@DirtyBuffaloProductions3 жыл бұрын
Probably have to brace up the roof a little more incase of a heavy wet snow.

Your shed looks great! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! I built an 8x10 shed for my kids in my backyard earlier this year using plans I got from *WoodBlueprints. Com* Clear directions and an accurate materials list...It was great for a novice builder like myself!

What about ordering a 4 mil clear plastic and it doesn't limit the amount of light. I use farmtek and their prices are pretty reasonable
@DirtyBuffaloProductions3 жыл бұрын
We didn't really have issues with the light being limited with ours.

Thanks for this! How has it held up? Are you using it over winter? I noticed it’s unpainted in the video, did you paint it to keep it from becoming brittle?
@DirtyBuffaloProductions4 жыл бұрын
We are not using it over the winter. We have 2 other permanent small green houses and this one was just used as an auxiliary one during the warm months. The nice part of building a greenhouse like this is the ability to take it apart and store it away over the winter.

HOW WOULD YOU DO THE DOOR?
@DirtyBuffaloProductions3 жыл бұрын
Roll down door is the simplest and cheapest. You can use the same plastic the green house is made from. Clip it at the top of the doorway, and attach a small piece of PVC pipe to the bottom of it for weight to pull it straight down. Then use a pair of squeeze clamps to hold it up when you want it open the whole way.
