Very nice setup! We just returned home from a week in the UP. We rented an off-road teardrop. (5x8) We drive a Tacoma and loved how easy a small trailer pulls, and we loved not setting up a tent. Our favorite day was swimming at Miners beach. Lake Superior was super calm. Thanks for your videos!

Awesome! Miners beach is very nice. A few years ago we were in the area and hiked to Elliot Falls (eastern end of the beach). The water was a bit rough and very cold when we were there. We are really starting to love the new camper. So much so that I potentially see another build in the future! Thanks for watching.

I really enjoy watching all your videos of Camper build series, we have 3 kids as well 2 Boys an 1 Girl, and planning on building the same size camper just with a foldable rack on top for pop up tent for our kids, we live in Chihuahua Mexico, and we have many nice spots where we can camp, so your Videos really inspired me to do this, if I proceed to make 1 I’ll share with you guys, God bless you and your family,

Very nice! Have been watching your build/ camping videos for sometime. Live in Lansing, Michigan and we love the Harrisville State park! It’s our favorite park. Just got back from Beaverton, Mi. It’s a city park very small sites. We will be headed to Harrisville State park next month for our second and Last camping trip of the year. I would enjoy knowing more about your camper and have been debating building one myself. Thinking of a 5-5.5’ x 9-10’ in size with a kitchen in back. Will be just leaving on trailer and not removing it.

Looks real nice! Any idea what the weight of the camper unit would be?

I’m guessing the pod is around 1500 making the setup on the trailer around 3000

NICE JOB! I really like your idea and plan to try to replicate it with my utility trailer. Only question is...how much of a pain is it to climb over the side tail when getting in/out?

For me it’s not bad at all. I am 6’1”. My wife uses a small stool and has no issues. She is 5’9”.

6:33 & 8:32 You changed tents?
@LivingOurAmericanDream3 жыл бұрын
We had two tents for that trip, one larger and one smaller, for the kids to stay in. We chose their tent size based on the size of the camp site we had and we didn’t really know until we got there. Good observation!

How do you fasten the box to the trailer ?
@LivingOurAmericanDream3 жыл бұрын
There are cables built into the sub frame that wrap around the trailer frame and connect using turn buckles.

How many hours would you estimate it took you to build this
@LivingOurAmericanDream3 жыл бұрын
I did not keep track of hours, but I worked a few hours a few days a week for a few months. Haha…I know that doesn’t answer you question, but the simplicity in this design could be built by anyone. Thanks.

You might need to learn that if you put to much weight on the back it want pull right
@LivingOurAmericanDream3 жыл бұрын
Definitely true. I've since corrected that issue simply by placing the pod further to the front of the trailer. In my case, I have about 6 inches of leeway to work with on placement front to back and in the beginning I had it placed all the way to the rear. Coming forward 4 inches gave me a great balance of tongue weight. Thanks for watching!
